7-week flowering mites

Well originally our clones had some mites on them. I noticed soon enough in veg that we were able to spray with Niem oil and a small amount of azamax. Then 3 weeks of adding a little azamax to the nutrient mix so that the plants would build up a strength. Well my friend in his grow just noticed a bad infesation of mites and he always comes over and touches my shit. Well now its the 7th week tomorrow and im seeing signs of the mites again. Most of them are still white and i still have not found a red mite. I still have not found any kinds of webs or anything.

Do you think waiting it out would be ok or no? Also i've read while your buds are haning, you also dip a hanger in somesort of stuff and all of the bugs go out of the buds and into that. Is it called Tanglefoot?

sorry to hear about that man... tell your frined to stay away from you till you harvest. anyway, try zero tolerance. it smells like crazy cinnamons.. but i recommend you soak them down now before it gets worse. wait about 10 days after you spray them to harvest. good luck.

if you have less than 4 days to pull them dont spray..otherwise... do.

Yeah no kidding lol. I still have a bunch of Purespray Green left. I cant imagine spraying anything onto these buds will be good for them, would it?

How long were you planning on flowering them for?

Id just leave them to it and carry on to be honest, it wont get really bad in two weeks or so.

nicotine ? i thought tmv came from tobacco ? haha. spray them once with zero tolerance bro, unless you'll be pulling THIS week.or... drop your night temps about 10 degrees an do a cool mist one night, it'll stun them for at least a few days.

Wipe down the leaves with a damp rag to control the spread as best you can. Thats about all you can do at this point. I had mite late 2 grows ago and I just wiped both sides of my leaves everycouple days.

Still had some poppers in the smoke after harvest but surely less than there wouldve been.

BLUNT> whats the THC content of a red-mite?

Id kill that shit and try to get all the dead ones off your buds - no point having them around at all to get into your other shit while manicuring etc only so they can come right back in! Make sure you scrub your shit good. Keep separate rubber slippers (easy to clean, good water barrier etc) and labcoat or bigshirt by room so you arent bringing in stuff - wash your hands and face before you go in and after you come out...

just spray, soak/wash your stuff early in the day with what those ppl recommended above (no neem at this point tho) and pick those suckers off as best you can - shake, dip, wipe - whatever! Just give your ladies at least a week to 10 days more to recover once clean and do a good flush or two in that timeframe...

Ive NEVER HAD MITES or pests or indoor mold or anything (mildew in first month of growing ever but fixed w baking soda spray and got dehumidifier and not again) - knock on wood. had green algae on tops of rockwools sometimes but it never really did anything bad.. I attribute this success at least in part to very good hygiene.. All the intakes and exhaust have filters, I am always clean when I go in there and never right from outside (except in winter its ok).. my cats arent allowed in there of course and I bend down to check every plant daily.

Also, despite what they say about having fans blowing directly on plants, how can that be avoided? On top of my 8" Can Fan exhaust (only like 2-3ft ducting to the outside - very efficient, on at half speed only when it does come on!) Negative pressure sucks in plenty of fresh air - intake from outside comes in just outside of room - allows temp to adjust a bit before being pulled in. I have an oscillating fan in each corner - 2 in one of them, a floor one and a 4ft one - all at different levels, and a clip on fan blowing on each bulb.. The fans blowing on the plants arent blasting them, but they do quiver constantly and get really good air circulation... THIS IS ANOTHER THING PESTS HATE! IF you add another fan or turn yours up it makes it harder for those lil bastards to hold on.. Increase air ciculation, lower temps too! change your air filters once you harvest and scrub room.. think hospital clean!!!

btw tanglefoot is a barrier of sorts... if you put it on pot lips or wherever migration routes exist, it will keep all mites/aphids on their side - they usually congregate there too and can then be easily smashed/removed. GREAT for drying lines too as they can migrate from drying herb right back to your garden if youre not careful! thats why u gotta kill them now unless you want problems over and over again.. And you should spray your friend with Dr. Doom next time hes over just to make a point!lol... Does he not understand or something? It seems like gross ignorance to first contaminate his own shit from touching yours, and then NOW to re-contaminate yours after you've gotten rid of it!! weak, man.. keep em away. seriously.

good luck

Thanks for the replies everyone. I sprayed them just before night time with a water, soap mix and just spraying on the undersides. My night temps were at 60 so hopefully that slows them down. I just hate the fact of spraying anything on the buds haha.

Lady bugs = They eat spider mites. It's cheap, effective and wont harm your plants or your lungs.

Not sure if I'd spray them down with any chemicals / pesticides at week 7 though.....

Yeah i've thought about the lady bugs. The only problem i think is that my room is not a sealed room. Im using a inch crack on the bottom of my door as a air intake. Also i bet he bugs would get sucked into my light and just get fired. BBQed lady bugs.... yummm
