So hypothetically, if cannabis was legalized worldwide overnight, what would happen to icmag?

would we all still come here and show our setups? granted, much bigger, and maybe showing faces/locations

would there still be even half as many seedbanks? or would there be stores to buy your seeds and clones and stuff in?

would you guys still grow/post on here? or would you just go to the store and buy your weed and play video games/watch tv instead? :xmasnut:

just wondering!

ah mate it would be far from over... it would be overloaded with new growers hungry for the swathes of awesome info contained within these here pages :)

p.s I can already buy my weed in the store... its bloody expensive though :D

I'd still hang out. The climb for us, is this. Knowing who was on your side during the grind-and that excludes douchebag for-profit assholes who probably don't even smoke(and unfortunately a few hang here).
I literally grew up on Overgrow, Planetganja, icmag, et al. When I was a teen in Nowhere, Midwest I had no other people in my life who experienced the world in a way similar to me. The only people that smoked in high school were wiggers and unintelligent losers trying to escape daddy problems. I felt like I was the only person in the world who had his shit together to some degree and still wanted to experience strange, alternative perspectives.

i know I'd still be here. I've learned so much here and know that I could learn more. I bet if it were legalized all over, then more and more people would get to really go all out without worry of prosecution.

Everything as we know it would change, the big guys would step in immediately,
RJ Reynolds already have trademarked names like Northern Lights and have lobbied for legalisation.

Big Pharma, entities like GW pharm, would step in and try to control the medical aspect.

Reynolds American Inc bought American Spirit because they were cutting in on their profits. They sort of left the company alone except that they now own all of the profits.

American Spirits = Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company
Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company = Reynolds American Inc
Reynolds American Inc = Camel, Pall Mall, Winston, Salem, Doral, Kool, Lucky Strikes, Bugler, Captain Black, Kodiak, Levi Garrett, American Spirit, etc…

"[Marijuana] is the recreational drug; the choice of a significant minority of the population...The trend in liberalization of drug laws reflect the overall change in our value system. It also has important implications for the tobacco industry in terms of an alternative product line. (The tobacco companies) have the land to grow it, the machines to roll it and package it [and] the distribution to market it" (Reference 20). In fact, some firms have registered trademarks which are taken directly from marijuana street jargon. These tradenames are used currently on little known legal products, but could be switched if and when marijuana is legalized. Estimates indicate that the market in legalized marijuana might be as high as $10 billion annually...

If that were to happen, I think that this site would blow up!!
I am in between grows right now...so I have been neglecting the Grow Forums here, and concentrating on the Legal Forums--
The only reason I don't post pics of me here, is because it is frowned upon by Admin...actually I have, a few times anyways--:hide:
I think this site would get much more interactive...as I think ppl would feel better about hooking up and trading...etc...
I have hosted parties at my house, for another weed site...and all went off smoothly, no probs...made friends for life!!
I would for sure still be a regular poster here--:tree:
Edit** BTW...I voted "Maybe"-- :nanana:

Hell yeah I'll be here lol.

Cigarettes and beer aren't hobbies. Nor are they beautiful things. And nothing makes you feel like the good ol' herb. Great folks on this site.

what! doubt it

Maby the top 1% of growers would be of use/ needed to grow for med or other if weed was suddenly legalised..

im my country 2 plant 30 g rule/law of 2000 or so is now comming undone, starting with baning of smoking impliments and there are shops that sell bongs only, they might be fuked. christmas came and saved us the new law wasnt passed in time so we have another 4 to 5 months to work out what we are doing here in?

Keep in mind, I am talking about some of the Breeders here...and others that are true Growers/Scientists-- There is some real talent here...but yeah...not for (Ima be nice) 95% of us here--

There would be alot of new people on this site, and there will also be some longtime members who will finally feel comfortable enough to post pictures of their grows on these forums.

I would love this site way more if weed were legalised... Maybe then I'd be able to meet a nice sexy lady to help out with the grow.

Natural born potheads are my peer group. Frankly, I love us all even the idiots among us. Frankly, the only reason I think Internet interaction with my peer group would become passe is because legalization would bring so many of us out of the closet. But we'd still need a centralized meeting place, and I really do enjoy the ability to interact Internationally.

Very interesting question...

On the one hand I would be super-relieved.......and say MISSION OVER!

.....and then on the other hand I would implement new features on the site where-by members could network directly under their own true identities and continue to grow together without all of the associated paranoia and security provisions that we have had to take under the climate that has prevailed over the past years....and years and years....

.....I am sure that many more people would join as members than ever before availing of the enormous amount of knowledge we have here about the plant.......and ICM.COM would attract alot more commercial interest from a host of different advertisers that today would fear to advertise on the board......
