Is this heat stress as I've assumed or could it be a nute burn thing? Temps are 29-30*C but using lots of CO2.

Sure looks like it, but on the other hand it's not yellow at all which I normally get if my lights are too close. But I'd bet on heat stress as seemingly, it only affects the top leaves.

I'm voting heat stress too.

Consider posting in the Infirmary section.

A few things...
Is it affecting the tops most of all?
What's the light's on door closed temps?
Lighting?
Ventilation?
Distance to the plants?
Do you have a fan blowing between your reflector and the plant tops?

yep...probably some other stuff wrong with it too. Those leaves look crispy as hell. Mabee Mag or your running your fertz way too high. best of luck.

Thanks for the feedback. The strain is purple kush the most popular one around the Van lower mainland type.

I was running the nutes way to strong at the beginning when I first flipped and was getting weird leaf curls and burning / browning before. I've flushed and weakened the rez a lot since then.

Leaves look like they would be crispy from the pic but actually on touch they aren't thankfully

the curling i happenning on mostly the tops yes

I'm only using 400w hps's that are covered with glass and being exhausted as well. these lights are about 18 inches from canopy still. no fan blowing between reflector and plant tops either.

With doors closed the temps at canopy were 29-30*C but the rest of the room was staying 19*C with the A/c on. Now I've cracked the doors a bit to help get the temp down a touch and see if that resolves the problem. If it was temps, will I see a recovery back to normal? or will i have to wait for growth do you think?

I use 400 watters as well. On my "first try at Aero' I was only using 2 400's. With those 2 400's (air cooled) i was able to 100% burn my entire crop with my lights. Just because it is a 400 watt and not a 1000 doesnt mean you respect it 60% less. It is still an HID .. I learnt that the extreme hard way.

I have 3 400's side by side .. []-[]-[]

I they are all air cooled, and i still saw signs of heat stress at 8 inches away. I keep my air cooled shades 10-12 inches away and my ladies have been happier since.

P.S. An oscilating fan to move air between canopy and lights, and to move the under canopy air around, would be a GREAT idea.

Hope this helps

when the leaves fold up like a slice of pizza its usually heat stress, your plant is a classic example, ontop of that you have light bleaching aswell, when they get bleached like that they instead of getting crispy they turn paper thin, this is not cool bro not during flowering, a plant can overcome any deficiencie or stress during veg without skipping a beat, during flower heavy stress can impact your yield dramatically, since it looks early flowering raise that lamp and do what randomguy said, get a fan blowing between the canaopy and lamp

anybody with heat probs should cut there watts in half , up there num a little and run vertical circular style, youll yeild the same for less-

ab77- if you got a fan directly on a tip with lots of heat it will look dry and sometimes go brown .

last couple of flowering weeks you should be flushing with water....

Leaves on the pic...

Leaves on the pic...

Hi, that looks like UV damage to me.

I use 600W MH and
3 x 50W MV (Hg) UV bulbs

The plants that are too close to the UV bulbs (or have been exposed to UVb for too long) "close" their leaves just like the ones shown in the photo...

thanks for the feedback guys. I'm using co2 with a regulator and timer and last time i did my measurements, using these exact settings, the outcome was about 1600 ppm for co2. Also teh temps were 29-30*C at canopy and the lights are about 12-18 inches away.

i was under the impression that it was beneficial to increase the metabolism of the plant by maintaining slightly higher temps ~29*C when using CO2 and that this was actually ideal. Does it depend on strain somewhat or something for the co2 levels?

looks like a K uptake Overdose, whitch coppled with heat can do this. I hve had plants in veg and bloom do this . some grow out of it quick sometimes it takes afew weeks. had one do it in bloom this run, at week 6 it looks as good as all the other girls. i use co2 but have not had heat issues. i grow purple kush and sour deisel mostly. the SD wants lots of K so somtimes i might overdue. just my 2 cents
