they are more white in the pics.and you said they like about two weeks.and you just give them there last flushing.as long as the buds still look good and the leaflets are still doing there jobs i think it all will be well. the purple stems could be from the cold wether.but are also comon with nitrogen def, phosphours def, is this a strain your not common with or one you have grown before?

This plant is from some seeds I created between A Mazar I Sharif Afghanica and a Nepalese.
Still not too familiar with either of the strains as I've only been growing them since last April.

The leaves are a light canary yellow. The stems have been purple the entire time since seed as have the parents and siblings. It got a bit more intense when the yellowing occurred.

ok so its more of a trait i have a unknown strain that the fanleaf stems turn purple afew days after they mature the rest of the plant is nice and green.ok on your leafs that have yellowed are they soft and silky not crisp and stiff. i beleive that this event was gunna happen any way. and that the flushing and cold weather just pushed it futher along.its a flowering nitrogen def. just at the right time as two weeks left in there lifes.IMO. the fanleafs are no longer needed. so allthe remaining nuts the plant has stored is sent up to make nice juicy nugs! im sure they will be nice and tasty!!!

Yes, the leaves were soft and pliable
Would it be of benefit to simply cut off the yellow leaves if they are not contributing to the health of the plant?

well yes they have been sucked of there life by the buds above. in most cases they will come off with a simple tug. in nature the wind will blow them off allowing for more light to penatrate the buds.

Thanks jyme, seems all is well and on schedule then.
I've just never seen these colors to this extreme before.
I wonder if this indicates what to expect with an outdoor crop?

BTW, here is my grow log for this strain : TRIUNE of M.E.N.

Yes, my hope is to create a powerful strain that can easily finish outdoors in Michigan, I'm hoping for the day when we can plant outdoors, while complying with our new medical marijuana law.

I selected both the Mazari and Nepali because it is said both can finish even after the first snow falls. I'm hopeful the Ethiopian will add a bit more Sativa influence without adding additional flowering time.

Looks like they may have been lacking in nutes as they went into Senescence. IMO.

A natural process exaggerated by a slightly weak plant just as it went into Senescence.

That is entirely possible as, I've not been fertilizing them heavily since these landrace strains don't like a ton of ferts. The sativa-influenced plants can take more nutes than the Indica-dominant ones.
Even so, I flushed the plant prior to going in to flower and just recently, after 6 weeks.

These plants should really be show pieces outdoors if this is their natural tendency. I'm hoping to have a test plot or two next summer.
Hopefully I'll have stabilized the strain somewhat by then.

They are in week seven of flowering today.
The buds are visibly frosty and under the scope it's incredibly jam-packed.
The trichs haven't begun to go amber yet so it may take between 8 and 10 weeks.
I think they may have been delayed with the trouble I went through.
I'll update the journal when they get harvested.
