Cannabinoids (THC, CBD, CBN...)

The Active Ingredients Of Cannabis

Cannabis products include marijuana, hashish, and hashish oil.

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) gets a user high, a larger THC content will produce a stronger high. Without THC you don't get high.

CBD (Cannabidiol) increases some of the effects of THC and decreases other effects of THC. High levels of THC and low levels of CBD contribute to a strong, clear headed, more energetic high.

Cannabis that has a high level of both THC and CBD will produce a strong head-stone that feels almost dreamlike. Cannabis that has low levels of THC and high levels of CBD produces more of a stoned feeling. The mind feels dull and the body feels tired.

CBN (Cannabinol) is produced as THC ages and breaks down, this process is known as oxidization. High levels of CBN tend to make the user feel messed up rather than high.

CBN levels can be kept to a minimum by storing cannabis products in a dark, cool, airtight environment. Marijuana should be dry prior to storage, and may have to be dried again after being stored somewhere that is humid.

THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin) is found primarily in strains of African and Asian cannabis. THCV increases the speed and intensity of THC effects, but also causes the high to end sooner. Weed that smells strong (prior to smoking) might indicate a high level of THCV.

CBC (Cannabichromene) is probably not psychoactive in pure form but is thought to interact with THC to enhance the high.

CBL (Cannabicyclol) is a degradative product like CBN. Light converts CBC to CBL.

Hi All and Merry Stoned X-mass.

I was reading this article above, and also watched this video, that can be seen HERE (<< video section)

..a question came to my mind, will a strain with high CBN level and a low THC level, been perfect for ppl suffering from anxiety?

As u will see in the video, she seems to be in a very bad feeling when THC is injected with out CBN. I don't know if this experience and this article saying the exact truth... Still i think it's interesting to see THC alone been not so enjoyable as a high. A lot of comercials bank use hight % thc strain as a argument to sell seeds. What about CBN, CBD etc ?

Been not a profesional, i'd like to hear thoughts from some of the icmag breedders and growers.

Peace

If it's the BBC doc of that twerp getting stoned in Amsterdam, there's a lot of misinformation in there. Actually, the 'scientist' she employs to do the tests keeps referring to Cannabidiol as 'Cannabinoid'. That's right...it's that serious. Wonder what he calls the other 400+ chemicals found in cannabis...?

yeah, I remember this particular scene where the barmaid told her to smoke 2 puffs and then proceed to put the joint out and wait for 10 minutes.

10 minutes later she's smoked the whole 1g joint... strangely she started feeling weird...

but this is interesting to see again, there's so little research in cannabis, many erronous statements are taken as truth. You see a lot of people talking about cbd making the high heavy and dull, since there's very little cbd in the drugscene at the moment.. and seeing the effects thc alone had on the 'reporter', I think it's time the scene synchronizes with what's current in CBD research.

I'm pretty sure it's Cannabidiol as in CBD... It would make more sense.

yes indeed.....

U right Elevator, there is too much misinformation actualy to be taking this experience as a serious and well done work. But still, this can put us on the way, can we creat a totaly, 100% anti-anxiety strain? I guess if some work was done that way we could definitely help ppl suffering from those actack.

Actualy i never seen the all doc, i wish i had. I'm surprise about the lack of investigation on cannabis, in this specific matter, from cannabis expert. I realise that there is a lot of people looking for good strain that still get u high but with out the bad side effects...The thing it's that we don't even know what's related to anxiety in cannabis??...But since the cannabis is now used, more and more, as a medicine so i guess its about time we start searching the causes of anxiety in cannabis marijuana.

at went a anti-axiety strain list? :smokeit:

Peace

i have always found Afghan based hybrids the most effective for treating my anxiety (tho everyone is different)...Herijuana, Aurora Indica, Nirvana Afghan, MNS Critical Haze all have been very good to me in terms of anxiety...all are about 50% Afghan with an additional crossing to add either a head high or even stronger body stone and all help me very well

also knowing what temps vaporize at certain temps can make isolating a certain cannabinoid much easier...a good friend taught me this on another forum...Soft secrets issue 5 has a full article on the cannabanoids and the temps they vaporize at individually
