lack of oxygen in dwc?

is there such a thing as a lack of oxygen in a dwc bucket system? I have 4 plants in 3 gallon buckets that have bubblers in them the dont bubble all crazy, and I have one seperate plant in a mini set up that bubbles like mad. the mini is growing like wildfire and has crazy roots. the 4 in the bigger buckets have way less roots. the 4 big ones were clones and the little one was from seed.... I just thought that the slow growth may be caused by some kind of lack of oxygen in the water, I bought myself a bigger air pump today combining my 2 pumps into one, but it has way more air output.

so the question is, is there such a thing as not enough air in the water ?? thanks

My 18 gal tub (12 gal nutes) uses a pump rated for 60 gal. My 2 gal bubble cloner uses a pump rated for 10 gal.

Air is the key to DWC growth.

I had the small pump from wally world make
a lot o bubbles in a 5 gal but I have a neat airstone
that looks like a mini can o soda.

Question: Does it make sensi to pump the water around
in a DWC or is the bubble water movement enough in a 5 gal?
thanks

that will help with DO as long as you have movement on the surface of your bucket but you will generate some heat from the pump

a plant can actually drown if thee's not enough O2 in the water. It will wilt, and won't be able to bounce back if not caught early enough in the game.

you can NOT have too much air and/or bubbles in DWC....the more the merrier, and it will directly show in the final result. The yield will be less if O2 is not present in quantity....so will the overall height of plant, and many other factors will be effected.

Yes you need about 4lpm per 5gal of bucket IMLE. I had a wally world pump that ran for a few months before the bubbling started getting weaker. I really like the hydrofarm commercial piston pumps cheap and powerful.
