Broken Stem

I was trying to train one of my widows down a little more and i snapped the stem right near the top. it is a pretty bad break and i have a straw around the it for support. I know there is a possibilty that the stem will heal. but if it dosent (it was only habging on by some skin) what would happen to the rest of the plant? would it die? would new tops start? i would like to save this plant if i could, it is my favroite and i m pissed at myself for breaking it. hopefully someone can offer me some insight in all this

mate I'm almost positive she will... I regularly have to snap down lanky sativas in my 2 meter high tent :)

they just get cool elbows :)

when doing it intentionally, always try not to split the bark if you can as its a possible point of entry for nasties... anyways, I've split mine loads too and so far, nothing bad ever came of it... in fact, you'll see the surrounds tops now vying for supremacy :D

if it's complete break or almost complete break, tape it up, it'll graft itself back on... as Highlander says MJ is insanely proficient at survival :D

to help you out heres my story... i was lsting a blue hash with very thick stems. as i was finishing tieing off the last branch it snapped like celery. my mouth hit the floor so i rushed a squirted a little water on the break and tied a splint to it. i figured i was just going to lose my main branch but 2 days later it had a thick knuncle on it and never even stressed out.

this plant was 90% broken, it was hanging on by the outer skin only, i really couldnt believe it..it finished and produced some knock out herb. good luck. best advice is...as soon as it breaks take care of it right away for the best success rate.

p.s- the picture is showing the back end that didnt split, that really shows it was almost a complete break-off.
good luck bro

when all else fails......duct tape...it will mend and heal..you may lose a little yield due to stress but it will finish fine.......
