Deregulate cannabis

Since conservative types are almost always in favor of deregulation to encourage economic growth, do you think legalization might poll better nationally if we called it deregulation instead? The slogans could be stuff like: "Help farmers escape Big Government, support cannabis deregulation."

It sounds so much more conservative than legalization or even decriminalization...

Its going to take a while to get the gov. in line with whats reasonable for our culture... Deregulating, to me sounds like the gov. will step out of the way and let the plant just be free... the way things should be... :tree:

I'm almost scared to think what the initial legalization or pseudo-legalization will look like...

I'm all for giving freedom to the people... Deregulate cannabis now, and allow the almost countless cannabis-related industries to flow productively, free from opressing unnecessary law...

I couldn't have said it better myself.

But I do think this is a great idea/middle ground that we can all agree on for now.

However, I'd be afraid of it being called deregulation as a means to collect votes, when the underlying agenda might actually involve regulation. (Ie, 5x5ft gardens, maximum 1 oz possession, etc.)
