What's new

Waterfarm Pots with Drippers

At 7 days under 12/12

At 7 days under 12/12

Well it's been one week under 12/12 and the stretch is under way. They've grown from 10" to 16" and need to spread out from 10" on center to 20" on center, and add a second 600w hps.

I still have funny ruffles or ridges on some leaves. I have no clue what the plant might be asking for. The new leaves look fine, and it certainly hasn't interfered with the growth spurt.

I am very pleased with the growth rate and ease of use of coco. It's truly the best of hyrdo and soil.

glad to hear and see that all is going well for your plants Fonda Trichs. my WW makes the teeth of the fan leaves fold up like that too, when i'm giving he more nutes then she likes but not enough to burn her. but i am not saying you are giving too much, just how it turned out with mine. in fact they look nice and healthy.

Coping Well

Coping Well

CO2 upped to 1200ppm. 2nd light brings temp to 85F. Should exceed 1" per day this week.

In playing around I found some shit that looks like mucous. I had seen that before in DWC, but didn't expect it here. It like bubbled up from the 2" rockwool when I hit it with a stream of water from a little 1/4" tube. Anybody every seen that before? Is it a beneficial bacteria? A water fungus?

hm.....bubbled up from the rw cube? i don't get it? lol maybe some algae on the cubes? so you say it looks slimy and is on top of the RW cube? if it's black and slimy or green and slimy it's algae, which i often get on my cubes specially in the beginning when there are no leaves shading the cubes. but this doesn't sound like what you are talking about? more details on the mucous might help?

yes, I don't get it either. I don't know if it poured out of the dripper tube, or was on the rockwool or in the rockwool. It was a milky, thick crud. Looked like snot or cum. It looked like the stuff you get in DWC when you're adding beneficials to an overheated bucket with roots about to succumb to pythium.

I saw it in three out of eight buckets, but then I stopped looking and covered it up with dry coco. I didn't want to see it anymore. I haven't seen it since. The intake and runoff buckets are sweet and clean. I rinse them and wipe them between uses.

Now I don't know if I really saw anything, or I was just stoned.

Ladies up to 19". Time to take some clones.

The phantom 'jizzum monkey' strikes again, beating one off in random grow-rooms just for a laugh...spunking in pots and shooting goo in nutrient solutions...:monkeyeat
Seriously though dude, whatever it is i hope it doesnt affect your plants...keep us posted. :lurk:

Be safe! :sasmokin:

hi fonda trichs, great thread, very well documentated, im and watering my coco but setting some drippers should be nice and your infos are very good, thanks and good luck, they are looking very good!
peace

Thanks i_score!

Everything is going great. I've never seen such blemish free plants. They look perfectly healthy and are growing fast. 18-20" (about .5m)

Pistals are starting to form at the bud sites, so I went ahead and cut some clones. I took 4 of the lower branches off of each plant and stuck them in a bucket of cold water. Then I mixed up some Dip N Grow, and got out a fresh package of rapid rooters. Now I have 32 clones in a tray over an 80F heater, covered by a humidome. I spritzed them with a little rhizotonic too. 24 hours of florecent light.

wtf?

wtf?

Well things are still smooth here. Plants up to 30" at 24 days of flower, except for one that is 3" shorter. I have questions about one plant that's showing some yellowing of the leaf.

Any idea why these leaves might be yellowing?

I checked the dripper and flushed with some weak runoff. Here's another pic showing how nice and green all the others are. Mrs yellow is in the back, right, here.

Flowers are looking good.

Next step is to setup for the next go 'round, ebb and flow veg in 5" coco cups.

These are the cuts I took at 12 days of flower.

Yes, I know they look mistreated. I'm not too gentle with my clones.

Later guys. I'm loving the coco.

i agree nandro, Fonda Trichs yellowy plant looks hungry, the question is why? is it cause she has been using less and letting sallt build up to a toxic (lock out) level? or is it just plain underfeeding over time?

did you measure the ec of the run off after the flush. that would tell you a lot. high ec = good flush till the return ec is in bounds again and then right back to normal nutes. low ec in run off= more nutrients for that plant.

it also has the look of a plant that has a blocked dripper, they get the same symptoms.

should be okay here in a few, I bet she's got it covered on tha flush, although you're probably right - could be dripper-related issue.

Best wishes,
Nandro :sasmokin:

Thanks guys! The runoff had a lower EC. I'll step up the nutes and chase that yellow away. And test that dripper for blockage again.

Damage Control

Damage Control

Day 40 I went to my flower room to adjust the environment for the dark period and was shocked to find a bunch of broken branches on two plants. The weight of branches had just exceeded the strength of the connection to the trunk. Luckily the cambrian layer on the bottom was still attached, so I just added string to add support. I usually use a netting to stabablize the canopy, but for some strange reason, I didn't this time. My mistake.

I don't know if all my branches are in danger of breaking and need support, or if it was just a passing phase. If more break, I'll get more agressive with preventive procedured.

:woohoo:

the buds breaking the branches with their weight is a good sign.

now you just have to support them all so they can continue geting fat. without worrying about holding the weight.
