Have 3 plants in a 3'x3' cab and veg a bit longer to fill it up (LST), or go with 4 plants and flower earlier ?
I'm looking for better yeilds, using a 400 duel spectrum.
It's just over 5'. I worry about over crowding, most i ever yeilded was from 3 plants in this space, i only tried it once due to the low germ rates i had.
Every grow since i've put a 4th plant in and it's produced less but i don't know if the 3 plant grow was good for some other reason than the extra space.
I'm just sorting my seeds now, i have one double dutch and a blue hash seedling after some germ troubles, i was going to plant another DD and i didn't know whether it'd be productive throwing another seed in or not.
It'd have to be a different freebie strain (Moby dick) and i want to see it do well.
Toughfy.
Go 3 plants and let them strech like 3" + from average 5-9" before lst and flower after a week or so of lsting. If you think about it, 3 lst'd plants will be the same as 4 plants. So in the end it doesn't really matter. It all falls under one and final catagory: yeild. So it's up to you.
Yeah that's what i was thinking, 3 plants, a bit taller, spread the bud sites out great with the LST = better penetration = good yeilds + a seed saved in this case.
The bigger buds should make up for the lack of bud sites, and the plants should be healthier with the extra space.
It's hard to resist the 4th plant lol, thanks for your opinion i'll go with 3.
