Cooltube or other aircooled hood?

I've already asked you guys which tent I should get... OUT OF STOCK! so whilst I wait I'm deciding on a hood. I'm getting a 600W digital ballast/globe from Aussieponics and a 1.2X 1.2X 2m tent. Ive dot 3 choices as far as hoods go. Here they are.
If anyone has any experience with any of these products I'd love some feedback. I want to keep this tent COOL without having to resort to aircon specifically for the tent. Remember it's 1.2X 1.2X 2m so I' not sure if the bottom hood is needed as I think the cooltube will spread the light sufficiently but I' leaning towards the bottom one as I think it's got the best reflectivity. Please chime in with your opinions... I NEED them. Thanks all, M_M

i run a 1000w in the same size tent, using a cool tube. and a small inline fan on all the time for the tube..

also a small fan for intake while lights are on and every now and then..

30-35degrees lights on and about 15-20degrees lights off.. not humid either..

there are also some decent tubes now with better reflectors.. mines got two massive white shades either side.. covers the tent size rather well..

hope that helps.. i think it should make your mind up! remember i am using a 1000w...

I use the 2nd one, the big tube. It's brilliant for my cab needs.

Parabolic reflectors are the most efficient light spreaders, with attached cool tubes available through most hydro shops, you want fans directly blowing on the light as well as exhaust fan

Similars to this bad boy you can buy, reflects the 1x1m sq quiet well.

i'm going to move my res out of the tent and add another bucket.. tho its going to be tricky to run the feed and return lines :(

The only one that will seal 100% is the cool tube. The other 2 will leak air, so if you are running a/c + co2 or plan to I would use the cool tube despite the fact the others may reflect somewhat better. I just use the hammer finish reflectors you get standard with the cool tubes and they work well.

i use 6 x cool tubes they are great as you can move about if needed and bring them together "IE. i have three mums and two 600 above each" and you can get them online here in AUS @ $70each with cables etc all ready to go. Just watch the light bleaching i had mine about 3" off the tops "no good" now at 10" and all OK.

Cooltubes all the way! I run them in pairs with a 150mm inline fan in between & an odour sock on one end. works a treat.

cool tubes suck, very inefficient

get a nice reflector like a super sun 2 or the sort.

hi habeeb, care to explain? I have just given away 4 of the super sun 2 type because they weren't air tight and I run a sealed room. For me cool tubes are the only air tight option I have come across.

Elaborate, please!

Well, Cooltubes aren't really a reflector per say and thus they simply don't do a great job at reflecting light onto your plants. Much of the light is lost through the ductwork and to other places.
They're designed to cool your lamp and do a wonderful job in that respect. And you will still grow good buds using them.

Unfortunately in Australia we don't have access to hoods like the Super Sun 2 or Magnum or even the new Blockbuster from Sunlight Supply, so the Cooltubes have to suffice.

I suggest reading http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=51325 for a more in-depth look at air-cooled hoods.

Use silicon to seal that shit up properly btw.
