I just read in my hometown paper that the kid i grew up with just got arrested for armed robbery. He tried to rob a poker game. He got arrested within an hour at a local eatery.

Was this some shit from the Wire, where a lone wolf gangsta robbed Marlo of six figures?

Nah. He stole 98 dollars. You read that correctly-an orchestrated armed robbery of a community college student for 98 dollars in a home poker game.

Sorry I just had to share this. The craziest part? He's not a crackhead or anything. He's just that much of a loser.

Do you remember Maurice Clarett? Running back for Ohio State?

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Maurice Clarett was wanted by police on Sunday after he was accused of using a gun to rob two people in an alley behind a bar.

The troubled former Ohio State running back allegedly fled when the bar owner or manager, who knew Clarett and the victims, came into the alley and identified him shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, the 22-year-old Clarett left the scene in a white sport utility vehicle with two other men and took only a cell phone from his alleged victims, who weren't injured. He was wanted on two counts of suspicion of aggravated robbery.

Before Sunday's incident, Clarett was negotiating a deal and was likely going to sign with an NFL team on Monday, Josh Luchs, one of Clarett's agents, told ESPN The Magazine's Tom Friend.

Clarett was expected to be allocated to NFL Europe if he signed, Friend reported.

Remember, this was the posting AT THE TIME. He was later guilty of sticking the men up at gun point, and when they had no money, he took their cell phone! Armed robbery, in an alley (as a STAR) for a cell phone. Some people man............

People only make decisions as good as the information and attitude they were raised with allows.

If you weren't raised by caring parents that stressed the importance of family, ethics, integrity, honesty and education.... well.... you get this kind of behavior.

I don't even want to know what most of the people I used to hang with are up to. Kinda at that point in life where it would be nice to have a good job, a family and some family friends....family friends that know when to behave.

I'm lucky. I'm borderline insane all the time and have to take a heap of pills to keep it altogether. Despite this condition I still have the power to realize right from wrong, good from bad, righteousness from venal sin and none of it was the gift of the parents. :gift:

You either care enough to do the right thing or you don't and all the schooling, excuses, conditions and pressures in the world will not change the fact that you care about what you are doing and how the consequences of your decisions may in fact affect other people.

Life is about experiencing the consequences of our decisions. It is the whole reason we are here, as there is no other or higher purpose.

Here's hoping all your consequences are good ones... :smokeit:

Right on bro. The thing that sucks, though, is that as I get older and wiser, well...:

Step out the front door like a ghost
into the fog where no one notices the contrast of white on white.
And in between the moon and you the angels get a better view
of the crumbling difference between wrong and right

I'm sure lots of people would say the same about their ex boyfriends or girlfriends.

As I've matured I've learned to keep my circle very tight. It's just not worth having loose associations. Oftentimes for a very tiny gain, you can incur a huge loss.

Be careful of the company you keep and the company they keep.

Thats rubbish , pure rubbish and a stereo-typical view point..Your backround and upbringing gives you character and personality but it doesnt stop you from doing the right or wrong thing.Plenty of kids dont get the perfect family start in life and they end up doing good.. The spoon fed ones have the same odds of ending up a ''bum'' or ''waster'' as any other kid..

Dont be so quick to judge the people of your past , or the ones who are less fortunate than yourself.. You might just end up '' f*cked up '' in your future..The ones that think it will never happen to me , well it might not , but it might and they usually find it harder to take..The more sane you think you are , the more insane you actually are.

All of my friends were/are great people that I admired and cared about very much
