Making a medical tea bag! (not a joke!)

so i was thinking of cannabis as i usually do all the time, and i wanted to make some edibles for a club near me. Well I read cali's thread about the drink mix and it got me wondering.

can I cook herb or hash with corn syrup or another sugar based liquid. Let it steep for hours, then strain it while hot. Pour onto colling sheets and let cool. Once hard i could use a food proccesor or cofee grinder and shave down the sugar to crystals. Then i could add hese crystals to some homemade tea bags and then i figure the cannabis infused sugar would dissolve into the te, making a potent brew!

please let me know whta yoiu think, and dont steal my idea with out getting me some cred. I dont want to walk into some club next week and see this, although there are similiar products, i just thought this wpuld be an all natural way to do it
:thanks:

The biggest issue you're going to run into is that the active cannabinoids are not that water soluble. I'm not sure on the absorption rate of cannabinoids into sugar either.

Whatever you do... please don't use corn syrup and stick to natural ingredients. No gear oil (I mean rapeseed), corn syrup or anything else non-natural that's used in the food industry these days. These _are_ medibles... right? :D

Sugar is not fat, so you have nothing to do the extraction. Canna milk is easy to make and quite effective. I do not know how to dry or condense the milk, but if you could remove the water without hurting the thc, it would then work in tea as you want.

good idea haps i have been dong this for a while but not thought about trying to dry out, i know I could reduce it and then maybe pour out onto giant baking sheet lined with parchment and let that shit dry out and then break up powder and use as drinkadditive..

i am gonna try it

thanks for the idea

i always thought sugar was fatty?

well i just pulled this from wiki

"While Marco Polo wrote of Mongolian Tatar troops in the time of Kublai Khan carrying sun-dried skimmed milk as "a kind of paste"[1], the first usable commercial production of dried milk was invented by the Russian chemist M. Dirchoff in 1832. In 1855 T.S. Grimwade took a patent on a dried milk procedure[2], though a William Newton had patented a vacuum drying process as early as 1837[3]. Today, powdered milk is usually made by spray drying[4] nonfat skim milk, whole milk, buttermilk or whey. Pasteurized milk is first concentrated in an evaporator to about 50% milk solids. The resulting concentrated milk is sprayed into a heated chamber where the water almost instantly evaporates, leaving fine particles of powdered milk solids.
Alternatively, the milk can be dried by drum drying. Milk is applied as a thin film to the surface of a heated drum, and the dried milk solids are then scraped off. Powdered milk made this way tends to have a cooked flavor, due to caramelization caused by greater heat exposure.
Another process is freeze drying, which preserves many nutrients in milk, compared to drum drying."

Not gonna work as well....try this little recipe I whipped up last weekend to warm the soul...

1 stick softened cannabutter
2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon FRESH grated nutmeg
Pinch ground cloves
Pinch salt
Bottle dark rum
Boiling water

cream together the butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Put in fridge for about 30 mins. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture into 12 small mugs. Pour about 3 shots of rum into each mug (filling about halfway). Top with boiling water (to fill the remaining half), stir well.

Warms your soul!!! Great for the holidays.

To activate the THCA to THC you need to heat it up. I think it is like 160 degs for 20 mins in the oven, but I do 3 sets of 30 seconds in the microwave, this will activate the THCA to THC (decarboxylation).

Decarb info

2 cups water
1 ounce marijuana (fresh leaves and flowers of a female plant preferred)
4 cups warm milk
2 tablespoons blanched and chopped almonds (I like to toast them in a skillet)
Pinch garam masala [a mixture of cloves, cinnamon, and cardamon] (go easy on Cardamon, it is pricey and strong)
1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger (you can use grated, just need to strain it)
1/2 to 1 teaspoon rosewater (optional)
1 cup sugar

Boil the water and add the Cannabis. Let it steep for about 5-10 mins
Strain the canna-water through a cheese cloth and save it. Wring out the bud.
Put the bud in a food processor (cuisinart for me) with 2 tblsp of warm milk.
Grind that stuff up.
Do the strain and chop over and over until you use about 1/2 c of milk.
Put milk in a bowl
Add the almonds to the green mush you have and grind it up.
Extract what liquids you can from this mush a few times.
after you have squished what you can out, you can toss it. (the mush, not milk)
Add both liquids together with some garam masala, ginger and the rosewater.
Add the sugar and remaining milk and voilá! You just made Bhang!

Now, as far as packaging this...you could just dehydrate it all, like you said to a powder, bag it, and you have your Tea with milk ready.

On another note, before you bag it, you could add some tea leaves to add the tannins from the tea, and of course give it the TEA flavor.

Instead of corn syrup I use agave syrup, look it up it is much better for you no sugar rush when you use it if your sensitive to sugar, I use agave syrup as a substitute in my canna caramels I make and it comes out just as it would with corn syrup. you can find it at whole foods, maybe traders joes.

I think all drinks/teas are glycerin tincture based. It's sweet like corn syrup so it works well in teas and such, and pretty easy to work with.

I hear heating hash in butter (in a sealed pot) for a bit will extract the thc into the butter.
After that, add some hot chocolate to the mix.
Mmmmm....

There were 2 popular medicated teas going around the so-cal area .They were the pre made kind in a ready to drink bottle . My favorite was once I got a medicated tea-bag with buds, and other nice things in it to make it taste good ,chamomile spices etc .Perfect to make me happy and feel well. I don't think there has to be fat either to feel the thc .There is zero fats in tinctures

There doesn't have to be fat, but there has to be something, either fat or alcohol. Glycerin is a sugar alcohol.
