Well I'll be damned...people like this really do exist

I've heard people say shit like this in public, namely politicians, but I didn't think they actually believed it. Nobody is that clueless, right? Not in 2009. With the internet and everything? Really?

This is a real boon for the non-abuser...competing with stoners to get and keep jobs is like taking money away from retards. I say pile it up on the street corners and give it away. Those with a propensity to use it will self-destruct, or at the very least self-identify themselves as losers. That's good for the rest of us. It IS still legal to discriminate against losers.

The funny thing is that users think the rest of us don't know who they are. We know a lot more than they think. And if I saw a doctor using it at a party the word would be on the streets before they got home.

You can ask people that were in the military through the late 70s and early 80s, as I was, what kind of difference mandatory random drug testing did in cleaning out nonperformers from the ranks. The difference before-after drug testing was like night and day.

All it takes is to be out on a street in Amsterdam on a Sunday morning to observe that free recreational drug use is not a good thing. The users come out and trudge through the streets like zombies...return of the night of the living dead.

I find it interesting when the news reports that the vast majority of medical marijuana prescriptions around here are coming from the same 11 doctors, a number of whom have restricted medical licenses and can't legally prescribe cough syrup. In another time and place we had a different name for them...pushers.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I remember growing up my Dad's first duty posting as a doctor in the Army in the late 70's. Drug use in the army was rampant at the time, a legacy from the later years in Vietnam. He stayed busy in the ER repairing broken bodies from all sorts of accidents and violence from people smoking dope. When I was a bit older in the early 80's he'd take me around on his rounds checking up on patients on Saturday morning and point out what had happened to these people and why.

Once the military started clearing up the drug abuse, by Desert Storm it was a whole different scene. The military hospital and ER was a quiet place compared to 10 years before.

It's clear there are some people that want to stay bombed out of their mind, so I believe we need to find a way to accommodate that and separate it from society to keep everyone else safe.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i always knew weed impared my counter strike shooting skills...........

The level of stupid, I just...I don't know.

I'm in a state of shock right now. I'm sorry but I just came across those posts and had to make this thread.

This is a grown ass man talking about isolated pot users from society to keep people safe. And I don't think he's trolling, either.

Where does one begin?

desant, funny you say that lol

I played CS for like 8+ years, and seriously if I didnt have a fatty to smoke before playing I wouldn't even turn my computer on. I play a fair amount of computer games, and honestly I wouldn't even try without weed.

were you actually in the millitary or just with your dad when he was a military doctor?
so you think marijuana legalization would be very bad?

That's probably not a bad idea actually. If weed were piled on street corners and given away there would be less crime. People would forget what they were doing on the way to rob the bank.

It's rather sad that some of us are going to have to die just so we can smoke a joint in the privacy of our own homes. We are a minority and because of that we get stepped on just like every other one.

Someone is obviously out-of-touch with our current military... "Dope" is rampant in the deserts and mountains where we're currently occupying. Just because soldiers "used" to do a lot of dope doesn't mean that it isn't happening again. It is.

Th closed minded. Let them fail in their own ways.

Oh, I don't know. All else being equal I'd rather not have the stoned guy on the grenade launcher. I'm crazy that way.

I'd rather get high, read the news, recognize the retardation of every war in the past 50 years short one, and not to be anywhere near a grenade launcher in the first place.

I got my first drug test in '80...It was 2 weeks before my discharge (Navy)...I handed it to my Division Officer and said, "You don't even need to test this one."
He said, "Why, because you are almost out?"
I said, "No...just hold it up to the light, you can see the li'l marijuana leafs floating around!!"

Sounds like this guy on Argue With everyone forums, his name is 'lastsoberguy' and a real ass!

He wants to kill every stoner, but anyway I odn't think people can prescribe cannabis on a 'limited practice'...it's not a dentist and they can only give gas. Well anyhow, look at the Military, they haven't done so well since they started random drug testing...which still doesn't stop people!

I mean really, do you think the random drug tests that started during Vietnam helped or hurt? I mean really, who cares if they were 'drug users' during WWII...that was the last REAL war and it was accomplished. They usually give meth in the military, probably mostly for pilots...but really, people have to stay awake in very long drawn out conflicts..it's not like in real wars people get these huge compounds with TV and all sorts of fancy things.

I know that the military doesn't make much, but they spend a FORTUNE on entertainment. Most people that don't 'use', get drugs from their doctor with no problem..then because we have a lax attitude, they really get offended and worried...around here they are cracking down on people that 'don't' have reasonable explanations' for their medical complaints.

If your rich and your kids are out of the house, oh ya they give you pain killers and mothers little helpers. But if you smoke, weed, they think your lucky to get a Thorazine. I read the other day, that most poor kids are far more likely to be given dangerous anti-psychotics because they don't trust the 'good' drugs in poor neighborhoods.

Wow, sounds like someone has some inferiority/projection issues about his joblessness.

I'd stake my net worth that this "person" couldn't pick me out of a room of a dozen people.

:D
