finally LoL, been checking up on this thread for ages now to see when that BF was gonna be chopped. sterling job good sir ! it looks quite large and those spiky foxtails tell the tale of the long-ass flowering. after the smoke report i'd be interested to see if you'd do it again or if the extra time would be better spent on the next round? longest i've taken a plant was 110 days for a swazi, it made a world of difference in the high, but it took a proportionately long time to cure it as well. strange? maybe.

take care

Hey VerdantG...i've been following along, and remember a little way back that you changed up your soil mix for the BB b/c you were trying to "control" the foxtailing?? Well, i'm wodering what you do when you run into the problem of N running out too quickly?

The reason i'm asking is b/c i have 2 WonderHazes that are on day 45 and they are just starting to yellow up on me, and i'm assuming its going to run at least 75-80 days or so. I have them in an organic mix with practically using LC's mix with coco and amending with Recipe #1 (including greensand). I've typically just watered with h2o, liquid karma and molasses every watering throughout flowering up untill now. I have some .5-10-.5 guano that i i could use to "scratch" into the surface, as well as some 10-10-2 guano. I could also use some flowering teas, but i was just wondering which one would be the best route to take to keep them from yellowing up soooo soon on me? Do you think i should scratch, should i use teas and scratch, just teas?? LOL. Sorry for such a long post and all the questions. Thanks for the help...and kick ass thread bro.

Sleepy - thanks mate, so far i've managed to get a minimum of 1g/watt from every strain ive grown in this cab with modscrog. having said that i've got deep chunk going in soon and i may go under with that - probably not going to attempt to scrog it as im not sure it will stretch enough???

SkuNkWorX - thanks mate - ill check your grow shortly :)

HashishinReidi - it better be good after that! - probably be more of an oddity weed than a daily smoke - we'll see after a bit of cure. thanks for stopping by mate :)

High Lowlander - right back at ya mate :D

oldbootz! - yep it was a long wait but the calyxs really swelle in the last 2-3 weeks and the aroma smelled really good.

solarz - if its N def they have (yellowing from bottom up) i would try a little of the N guano as a topdress. scratch it in, wet it, and then water properly a few minutes later. just use a little bit and dont expect the leaves to go green again - but it should stop more from going yellow. if you search this thread for crazy composer there are a couple posts by him i copied about feeding with guano.

i do have a blueberry in the cab atm - about 2 weeks in - ill get some pics. i gave it less N guano and this round i reduced the p guano on all the plants (hope i dont live to regret that but i wanted to see what happened - i suspect that with the rock phosphate i give them too there will be enough p for them still)
i took my eye off the blueberry for a couple of days and it stretched a bit too much with no training, i had to give it a severe talking to :D and hopefully it will behave itself from now on

Thanks for the infor bro. And honestly...i can't really tell if it started from the bottom up...it actually just seems like it happened overnight. I have some Flowering Nute tea that i'm going to use along with a touch of guano (since i diluted the tea by %50).

I'm wondering if hitting it with any N this time in the cycle if it would produce some "unwanted" reactions?? Thanks again bro.

hmm, i would certainly use just a little bit of N rather than a lot. if you are only halfway through then i would use it or your yield may suffer.

i had an NL go yellow on me early last time i was experimenting with reducing the N guano in my mix. i fed it some and although the leaves didnt go green again i ended up getting my best ever yield from that plant :)

Ok, thanks for that...i'll probably add a tsp of 10-10-2 guano as well as the flower nute tea (from B1's organic thread) and see how that does em. Hopefully it'll give them that little bump they need to yield nice fat colas!

Always interesting to see two crosses that share a parent side-by-side like that.

Already looks like the Cheese crosses are more straight up, while the PPs are doing a bit more branching. Looking forward to see if one parent comes to dominate the cross - presumably the more homozygous one...

Looking very healthy...as one expects from your show.

blimey - yep should be interesting to see how my first two crosses do. tbh i havent had time to get a close look at them yet. a couple of the labels may have got mixed up when all of them fell off their perch just after repotting a week or so ago. i repotted them today into some nice 1.4 litre pots i managed to source - i can get 9 of these in a quarter/square foot - now i know they wont get thirsty so quick if i cant get up to them for a couple of days.

sirsmokalot! - thanks for checking in - busy time of year huh!

---

in other news i sowed my deep chunk seeds on sunday and i have 10 nice little seedlings now. we had 6" of snow overnight so i'm hoping they dont suffer from cold - i have them in a propagator under 2 cfl in a cupboard downstairs atm- they may stretch a little but propbably safer than putting them up in the loft.

cheers all - if the snow stays and my buds dry i may be in for a black and white chrismas :D

I use as many of those little 1.4 L pots as I can get my hands on....go the whole way SOG style no problems in my 28" height. I can usually get 3/8 - 1/2 oz out of each one, with plants just touching the ceiling with about a weeks veg - you should easy get quite a bit more :) :smokeit:

thanks blimey - the ones i have are from greens horticulture and they are quite deep but only about 4" square accross the top.

bootz - yes - i have loads of more excitng seeds waiting to pop but i thought i should make myself test these out to see what the male was up to and if it is worth keeping

---

now there are 9 DC seedlings - one was sort of folded over and couldnt straighten up - something wrong with the stem... and another is on deathwatch because it looks blind.

RockinNick

I love the way you have each pot setup with its own screen. I have 2 under one screen and its a pain in the ass if you want to flush/do anything with them really. I might have to take a hint from you and do my next grow like that!

I hope my product comes out like your nugs!!! Thats some dank weed haha

I just read this whole thread and learned alot, Verdantgreen wow! you have that cab dialed in. You inspired me to try design my 250 cab for mod-scrog.
I have a few questions if you dont mind, how tall are the pots without the screen? and whats the distance between the screen and your hood?
the cab is about 3.5' high - i wish it was taller but thats all i got to work with
my flower chamber is also 3.5' high but I could make it taller and just make the 2'Hveg chamber shorter. What height would you prefer?

how do like the cmh so far? :smoke:

Much respect. You have inspired me to try these modular scrogs. The only gripe I had with scrog was the long veg time and this is the perfect solution! :thanks:

hi RockinNick - yep the modular has a couple of advantages over regular scrog and no disadvantages really

FlyingHawaiian - pots are about 11 inches tall. its worth really looking around for pots or anything that you can use as pots that will get as much soil into the space as possible without using too much height... distance between the screens and the hood varies but on average about 1 foot - which gives 6" of buds and 6" gap between tops and bulb
i would leave your cab 3.5 high as it is enough and encourages discipline in training the plants (which makes for efficiency). besides you dont want your veg cab to be too short either. maybe give the flowering cab an extra 3" or so...
CMH seems great. early days but i cant detect any slowing of growth and the JTR is looking extra frosty - although its supposed to be a frosty strain anyway ;)
250wscrogger good luck mate - glad you like it

cheers

thanks! this should give me a good base to go on, My flower cab is 20''D,29''W,44''H so I think im gonna have to make my own rectangle pots to get the most soil volume, probably out of plywood. I can't decide if i should fit 2 or 3 plants, the screens would be alot more square if I fit 2.

Ill be watching!:xmastree:

hey Flyin the thing to consider is vegging time and how many plants you want to grow. if you are going through seeds and looking for keepers then having more plants can help. have you thought of making 4 screens? then they would be arund a square foot each like mine and you generally dont need more than a few weeks veg.

cheers
