Trichs on Mothers

Well,it's not a bud,but i find it quite unusual,i dicovered trichromes on my mother plants.

On the picture you can see a White Skunk mother, but this is happening both on my Hashberry,Afghani#1 and Afghani Hindu Kush mothers.

Can you observe the same thing on yours?

It's not unusual, just your plants loves your grow room!
Always happening on the strong indica....but same thing on my haze and sativa hybrid! So don't panic bro, it's nature magic ^^

Thanks dude,i was just wondering about some stressfull conditions that could force them to produce their poison ^^
But as you said bro,the room they grow is lovely so they just give it back to me ;-)

I've got that now for the first time one plant is still in veg only three weeks old and starting to produce resin on the leaves think its from its blockhead heritage. Its got to be a good thing.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the resin, I thought was actually produced in the calyxs' after no pollination? Ya know, the ones that squirt if you squeeze them during harvest.

I mean are trichs actually considered resin? I can see the biology/horticultural aspect of them being considered resin since it is a liquid.

The trich´s head is resin tex.....only the head. And havent you had plants that throw out trichs on the leaves? leaves are not calyx....are they?????

My wife squirts some times during sex but i have never had a plant squirt on me before dude!!!! where do you get your plants??

Yes trichomes are the resin they are more concentrated on the calyxs think your refering to sensimilla (without seeds) when a plant isnt pollinated it puts more growth energy into the buds often producing more resin.

ive had vegging plants show trichs in veg... I never really found out why, but it only seems to happen to the plants that are the most healthy / vigorous... So if a plant is super dialed in and happy, i will see trichs on the newest sets of leaves

I have seen that before, it means good genetics and good conditions. I see them do that mostly under CFL's with good soil, but it's easy to mess up soil if your used to hydroponics (checking on soil everyday isn't a good idea!).

It only needs a check up once a week, leads to problem wanting to tamper with it everyday...like a hydro addict.

Ya, I have seen trichs rupture and fall to crystallize the leaves below, but that is from a FLOWERING plant. The OP is talking about a mother.

My question, which was answered, was about what resin actually was considered.

I do know that most of the THC (THCa) is in the 'globe' of a trich. I just never really considered this actually resin.

And the Calyx is actually just the home for male or female reproductive organs.

I have never seen a calyx not full of juice, so for the past X years I musta been doing something right.

yeah they are trichomes. Resinous varieties will exude resin given healthy conditions in amounts/frequency, and furthermore will produced varied terpenoids encapsulated in the capitate stalked trichomes which are located on or near the maturing reproductive budsets.
Factors affecting the concentration and type of resin constituents are, listed from most important to least- genetic background of the plant, relative nutrient availability, and climatic conditions (UV levels are tied into this as well, arguably). There are 3 different types of trichome on the plant. Bulbous ones with no stalk(15 to 30 micrometers), capitate sessile(typically 25-90/100 microns), and the coveted capitate stalked trichome(anywhere from 40-120microns+) that are generally present in higher concentrations on female plants. It is the drop of oil held in by a thin waxy layer teetering upon these stalks that we seek...
