I'm with Jay and Von on this, as I always saw similar response before I was forbidden to grow.

OK, I'd just keep an eye on them though.
But if anyone wants to see what a Mg def looks like, when all the leaves on the plant point up, that's it.

Lilwayne, can you do one with the virgin of Guadalupe or an eastern orthodox Jesus? I guess Mohammed would be in poor taste, but maybe rabbi lubovitch? Let's get ecumenical!

That's how it looks to me, but maybe it is actually stress? Notice it is only the new growth, and it is actually angled to reduce light exposure as in certain desert plants.

No doubt the plants are beautiful and the technique is proven, but it is strange to see. Never seen that outdoors where I never fed like that.

Update/Pic

Hello all........I am posting an updated pic of the WTF/MTF. It's been a couple of days now and the leaves have leveled out...they still have a more upward posture than they typically did, but overall look pretty healthy.

I do have to wonder however, if there might be a slight Mg thing going on after all. There is just the slightest lightening of the leaf margins, with about 1/16" of the margins being slightly lighter than the body of the leaves.

I know that there is Mg in molasses and kelp meal, which were in the tea. What is the best way to give the plants the necessary Mg and still stay within the organic paradigm?

On a sidenote........I applied the same tea to the plant in the foreground the next day, and it is shouting "Hallelujah" also. A couple of the lower fan leaves are showing some minor downward curl at the tips.........

EDIT: I forgot to mention in the original post that I'm using co2 enrichment.......and wondered if the additional nutritional needs are not being met.

Thanks for all the interest and discussion on this topic.......it's always nice to gain knowledge and insight............I am amazed at the level of science brought forth here.

Here's the newest pic, let me know what y'all think

Definitely not a magnesium deficiency. If it were, ALL the leaves would be pointing up by now.
But if you ever have one, use Epsom salts @ 1 tsp./gal. of water once and see if they improve.
You can get some leaf tip wilting after you water.

if i were you, i would use brun1s advice but use the recipe as a foilar spray
I wonder what causes it?
this has happened to some of my plants. It tends to happened to plants that are of the same strain and given the same care, nutes ect. if it is stress its not bad for the plants but i think its our plants responding to the care we give them..:joint:

i may be wrong but im starting to think plants in general are more intelligent then we like to think. think of how so many people grow them, ther role with soil, feeding microbes, relationship with all life, etc..
there is a show that comes on the science channel called
"The Revenge Of The Plants"
Science is redefining our understanding of plant intelligence and their fight for dominance. Chemical weapons, optical illusions and booby traps are tools of survival developed through evolution and some now believe they include perception and memory.
some studies were done on plants and how they sleep. studies on the root tip theory (some beleive that the root tips may be the brain of the plant) and Plant neurobiology
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plant_neurobiology
http://www.linv.org/
there are a lot of subjects on plants and how intelligent and diverse they are. Reading about plant physiology and other related fields really opens your mind to how humans or mammals are part of & very similar to nature, plants, microorganism and life

if you guys/gals care to watch it its an interesting video, that i think may help us understand this pointing of the leaves.
another great video more in def on plant evolution and ther impact on humans is
Botany of Desire, you can get the book or watch the video
http://video.pbs.org/video/1283872815/
enjoy
be sure to smoke before watching or reading the two

Would this foliar spray need a surfactant/wetting agent to allow better dispersion? Or is it even necessary? Also, what kinds of surfactants do those in organics use? I doubt the wetting agents available at "hydro" stores fall into the organic category, but I may be wrong.

Also, could the epsom salts be added at that same rate into a tea? Perhaps a veteran here has a link to a tea that is Mg oriented?

Thanks

it works fine with out IMO, molasses will work as well as EVOO. some also use dish soap to help,i have used all

i have used epson salt in my tea's but i personally prefer to use epson like burn1 advised or as a foliar ap.
im not 100% sure but i think epson salt may/can hinder microbes in ACT

Man I would not spray any thing on them. If nothing else make a EWC and Molasses slurry and do a drench with it but no folair now. IMO

And if you do I would just spray the under sides of the leaves nd try and protect the bud sites as much as possible.

Agreed. I don't know if there is any evidence that epsom salts is effective in a foliar application. I think that was the suggestion.

yea if your going to foliar, try and stick with the leaves. I spray sometimes during early flower with no bad results, but thats with my grows.

after these two post i agree that its best not to try & fix something that may not need to be fixed.
but i have used epson as a foliar to cure blossom end rot on some of my overgrown container toms and peppers. that is why i suggested this, i now use the epson as a foliar every 3 weeks on my toms and peppers with no problems of BER or problems of excessive mg or cal lock..
i use the left over spray on my cannabis plants, if there is any

Some Bud Shots

Well........it's time to harvest......this grow went beyond my expectations. Thanks for all the help and the kind words. I posted some flower pics in the "Flower Pix" forum.

You can see them here.

Here's a few more that didn't make it to the "Pix" forum:

Very nice!

Compost and worm castings teas are GREAT.

My Gals love the stinky goodness as well.
