Denver seems like a happening place, at least as far as marijuana is concerned. Cooking with marijuana and making cannabutter is nothing new, but I think it's cool that there's marijuana restaurants now.

I wish they had something like this in my area.

Ganja Gourmet's menu includes lasagna ("LaGanja"), "Panama Red Pizza" and an olive tapenade called "ganjanade," along with a sweets such as cheesecake, muffins and brownies.

The food isn't cheap. A whole pizza sells for $89, and a dozen sweet treats called Almond Horns cost $120.

The result is "cannabutter," or butter that makes a diner high. Chefs say 2 teaspoons of cannabutter typically contain the amount of THC in an ounce of weed
i call bullshit.

There's a video about the place. I think I can dig it, bs about cannabutter aside.

I'm torn about the cost.. 10 dollars for a brownie with some cannabutter sounds a bit expensive, but then again you might pay 3-5 dollars for the same brownie at a regular gourmet food or dessert shop. Does it have 5-7 extra dollars worth of medicine?

Heh I'm having trouble doing the same math for the pizza though. They will end up dropping that price when someone opens down the block selling them for a more reasonable price.

Awesome in general that this kind of thing is happening in new places - thanks for sharing greenhead.

anyone got any recipes for a cannamint chip icecream??

I wonder how they make the pizza, maybe some laced olive oil in the dough...or if you made the cheese yourself, having cannabis oils absorbed by the milk fats when its' pasteurizing.

They're making gourmet food. No way they make cannabutter by putting the cannabis directly into the butter. Make kief, or extract oil, then add it to the butter. Make sure to do a water cure first if you're extracting oil. The nasty taste is water soluble.

They could indeed.

You can clarify butter in a larger amount of water while boiling everything. Cool the strained resultant and you break the solidified fat off of the top which is your clarified ganja butter... no water solubles.

Why the hell waste the time to make an extract and then waste the extract on butter??

I'm gonna say there's no way they make cannabutter by making kief or extracting oil, and then dumping it into butter... wasting tons of effort and time.
