i would think a cheap alternative to a great quality product would be just that - cheap - and an alternative.

You get what you pay for and there is only one Volcano :)

Expect poorer quality, reduced longevity, and bad customer service/warranty claims. It's cheaper for a reason, lower costs to build through the use of cheaper poorer parts, inexperienced or poorly trained labor, reduced R & D, reduced staff for customer service . . . it goes on and on and on

I have alot of glass pieces to smoke with, but if i ever give someone the choice they always pick the Volcano... The quality of the high and the smoothness of the smoke cannot be beaten... one bowl goes alot farther in the Volc... And the new Easy Valve bag is great for people with arthritis... I knew a guy who used a heat gun from Home Depot instead of buying a Volcano, he just bought the bag system the Volcano uses and held it on top of the heat gun... It was a little harsher to smoke because the gun got a little too hot... Also, etinarcadiaego is right the customer support from Volcano is tops

But the Extreme has more features than a Volcano since you can use it as a whip vape too. I've been considering getting one myself and would also like to hear any comments if someone has one.

Also I wonder if this would work with the Extreme.. connect the whip to your bong with an adapter, instead of normal "whipping" turn on the fan.. use your bong like a "bag"? Uhh hope that description was clear enough.

Not to mention its half the price!

Have you used one yet, or are you just talking out of your ass? Because I think the OP was trying to get opinions from people who have tried/owned the product.

The Extreme works very well as a forced air unit (bags). It has 3 different fan speeds, but I don't really bother with the first two, just set it to 3 if I'm filling a bag. Depending on the version (there are 3), the way you set the temp varies. The earlier models had people claiming to have to set the thing at like 500 F for it to work. In the newest model (the one I own) the temps are far more accurate, and in line with the regular temps that others vape at.

As for the whip style, it works better than any box vape that I've ever tried. I don't have a huge amount of experience with whips tyle vapes, so maybe someone else could shed some light as far as comparison. I do know that there is a method of use by Extreme users where you pack the elbow connector and set the fan speed to 1, dependent on the bud sometimes it looks like you're blowing out a regular hit from a blunt or joint.

I've tried the Volcano, and it got me destroyed. I own the Extreme, and it too gets me destroyed. Just because it's a cheaper alternative, doesn't necessarily mean it's quality is shit.

More features at a reduced price simply implies drastically reduced quality. Expect something that will work marginally well, but not for long . . .

If ever anything (like a product and it's sale price) seems too good to be true - IT IS!

I'm sorry you took such personal offense to my post - but I'm not wrong. The Extreme is likely a great product, but if it's substantially cheaper it's made substantially cheaper, period. I didn't say it's quality is shit - try reading my posts before scrambling to reply - I simply said don't expect the same level of quality as the Volcano - also true. I just advised him based on simple economic principles.

I have a Silver Surfer Vaporizer as well as the Volcano and the wick system fails sadly when compared to the bag system... I haven't used the SSV since i got the Volcano, but if your not willing to spend the money then get what you can... Vapes are kick ass but the Volcano is clearly the king of vapes

This has a lot of comments of the extreme- most look pretty good. Try Google-ing it. I own several vapes, but not an extreme.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I will take it all under consideration with my purchase, it will just take me a few more months to get $$ for a volcano but anyone else try the extreme? There is two one priced at $299 and the other one $199.:thanks:

i've used an extreme, the first vape i've used, and the only one so far ... a fried uses it constantly. he's never had a problem, and it works great. it has the borosilicate glass bowl assembly which you have to be careful of, hey it's glass so it can break ... but it's not flimsy by any means, he's never had a break and it's a workhorse for him, goin' all the time.

i question the price on the volcano, maybe it's so high because it's imported. you have to find out for yourself, i've never used a volcano, but i CAN say the extreme works great, and for much less cash. it is not a cheap piece of shit, for sure.

Don Dump is right -as always. Even though cheaper construction/parts/warranty means somewhat reduced quality in virtually every product made, it doesn't apply to Vapes. We're just living in 1999 and we think every vape is a piece of shit.

I linked him to reviews about the product which is more valuable than the tripe shit you spout Don Dump. I'm not a fan boy - but you are.

muckraker.

etinarcadiaego, why do you keep filling the thread with your assumptions?

You already admitted that you've never used an Extreme, so...this thread isn't for you. YOU are the one spouting shit, my friend...Your ignorance is kinda amazing though.

Buy an extreme, try it out...THEN give us an opinion. Until then your opinion is useless. THANKS!

define reduced quality. sure I can't throw my extreme down the stairs, who cares? is that worth $400?

We're just living in 1999 and we think every vape is a piece of shit.
watch out for that y2k

What did I assume? Nothing - and how am I spouting shit? Real life TRUE observations are NOT shit!

I linked him to threads on other sites containing actual reviews, and explained in easy to understand terms why price differences in products generally correspond to quality differences.

I had no opinion - I simply explained those thing - which are facts.

Don't call me ignorant since it's clear you don't know what the definition of the word ignorant is - I went out of my way to research the product on the OPs behalf then link him to that research.

You can reply to this post if you like, but seriously just cause you don't like me doesn't mean you need to call me names you don't even understand.

Here's a repost to what I posted before so caruso813 can stop replying to my posts and I can stop replying to his posts defending my point of view:

Hey man. Glad to see you researching before buying - that's a good habit.

I've tracked down some reviews for you and others to read before you purchase. Seems the only major complaints are ease-of-use, glass strength, and setup time.

Thanks to Google for the "search assist".

Read away my friend, take it all in :)

define reduced quality? kinda defines itself don't it now? anyways man i'm glad you like your extreme and not glad you think you have to defend your point of view to me - as I never knocked your point of view. REad my posts people - I just wanted to try to help the OP make the right decision the first time. Seems like some of you were more concerned with arguing with me.

Good luck skifoot!!!!
