MOUNTAIN MADNESS DAY 8 OH MY!!!
we have some things going on in the grow room wooohooo!!!
so i have been growing out these little MM beans I was kindly gifted by my good friend Sub.
they were started in 1" cubes then after they sprouted i put them into little cups of 100% light warrior
i didnt give them much love while they were sprouting I just dropped them and hit them with water as they needed....
they were started 7/31/09
they looked like this from the top 8/23/09
i transplanted them into 4" containers in 2:1 ocean forest:light warrior
on 9/11/09 they looked like so
then 9/21 they looked like this
i'd been in and out a lot between the end of september and early december, but now i have been able to spend some time tending my garden. so i am finally able to spend some time getting to know & show IC these genes....
I repotted all 8 plants into 3g pots of 2:1 OF:LW, let them "hang out" ofr a week/10 days getting used to their new homes, topped them (multiple times), and put them into flower 12/13.
I HAD NOT SEEN ANY SINGS OF SEX AT ALL DURING THE 24hr VEGG SINCE 7/31
and well well well what a week of 12/12 has brought upon us...
i was hoping for some males for sub/sdf... i was hoping for 2-3 males honestly... but i/we have been blessed with 6 - count 'em - SIX males and 2 females (so far they are!).
so that makes any female selection a little easier haha! i was kind of sweating that to be honest with ya'll hahaha. now what to do with them thar males....
heres the plants just before feeeding time, which bTw i am giving them 2 waterings of H&G Aarde (soil) A/B then 1 watering plain phd h20... so far they are getting hit 1x per week. I imagine as the weeks prgress and the plants mature i will need to be feeding them more frequently.
onto the fresh pics....
and please excuse the shitty snap quality - my daughter's camera's lens is blurry (no idea why...i need to take it into a camera shop to have them look at it) and wont focus.. so here's the Target camera in action!

they seem to be pretty similiar
when i get my camera running right i'll be back with better/more snaps for review....

#3 this one is very very 'nodey'. but its not very 'strong' i had to stake it in veg to hold its arms up.
#5 i like the way this one hase been growing... for a male

#7 nice strong male... i think - i have no clue!
#8 reminds me of #3 a little bit but 'stronger'
5-6-7 seems to me to be similiar phenotypes while 1-3-8 are also similar for another phenotype... i think... for males.

Pick the stinkiest smelling males. Strongest, the ones that are holding themselves up. And get rid of the rest! # 7 does looks to have the best growth...
so the question is....why so many males? genetics or the luck of the draw? with the purple skunk ohgee got mostly females but tropical rain had at least 4 males in his 5 pack....i wonder if the c99 dads lean towards males....i think it is just coincidence...hope anyway...i think most of these seeds went to people who dont post thier grows online cuz i havent seen anything....
----anyways...great job so far man! outta 6 we ought to be ble to find something about at least one of them that stands out...awesome dude...and thanks for the text at 330 this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ha

sorry i just got out of the room and was uploading the pics (finally!) and was excited.
my bad... doesnt everyone go to bed at 4????
about the ratio of males...
i think its just the luck of the draw - i mean a seed (if not from a hermie!) has what, a 50/50 chance of being male or female. I'm not worried about it I now its not something environmental or my sensi crops would be fucking up, too, and they are fine and dandy. Nature is just running its course.
gotta say i must have been delusional thinking they would have forced/showed me something sex wise with the 24/0 light. HAHA what a dumbass
my camera was magically working properly this morning (well, afternoon really but i woke up at 12) so i'll be able to get them better snaps in the next day or 2 (becasue i feed them all last night i'm gonna let them dry out a little bit before i take them off the table again for photo ops).
I think 7 has a very nice look. it doesnt look 'weedy' at all.... gotta give them some scratches so i can get some aroma therapy going...

the funny thing was i was just falling asleep....and i got the notice on phone that thread had been updated at same time...so i opened it up on my phone and was checking the pics when i drifted off...never got the chance to text back...then i forgot i was gonna do it this morning before i left for work, just to get a lil revenge! haha

As for seeing sex in veg... The Larry Berry showed female before i ever flowered her... I had her going for many many many months though... That original seed went through a lot

You were growing the Skunk X GDP right OHGEE?? Hmmmmm, how about Grand Daddy Skunk?!?!? lol, simple, yet everyone would know what it is!
Don't think I mentioned it on here, but I will hopefully have a select batch of Green Ice X (Guerrilla Gold X Sour Dubble) I used pollen on the GI I've got runnin now, so if all goes well I'll have some seeds to pop. If I'm lucky I'll find a sick sick sick pheno! Hey Rob, any notice on when those GG crosses may go up on the bay??

sup cali! yeah that's sub's baby but i made x's of her. doesn't look like a lot of seeds were made in some of the girls. more pollen next time, i guess. haven't got to the gdpsk yet though, not ready.

I'll be growing out some GGxSour Dubble soon from Growtech, he's popped some seeds and has some cuts now but they are unverified as males or females. I'm sure we'll get some females.
