Well it took me 6 months but I finally got around to putting these pics to the rockies this summer.

I'll start with denver, and the Psychedelic experience art exibit. It is a collection of the art from the Filmore concerts in the 60's

next is a few pics of boulder, an a cool tea house there

those birds in the picture are wild turkey.

I went with my family this year, my dad decided to get a cabin. yawn! actually the cabin was great. I would live there if I could in a second. It was very nice of my folks to bring me along. They made it possible for me to have a great vacation this summer.

The cabin borders the park, so I decided to get out of there for a while. I loaded up my pack, and bush whacked in through a shitty old trail into the park and intercepted one of their trails. great way to get into the park for free.

wow man, really diggin those psycedelic posters and that tea house.. whats that a tricked out manhole cover? fuckign sweet.
bit jealous of those park pics, been bout two years since i was out there and even in the winter the wild life is amazing.. not sure what part of the park i stayed at but it was a camp site near sprague lake..

ohh btw did you get a chance to drive up Trail Ridge Road?? man i fucking hope so, it was winter when i did so they closed the roads towards the top but you can see the whole damn park!

little quick info
Trail Ridge Road provides spectacular view of the majestic scenery of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is the highest continuous motorway in the United States, with more than eight miles lying above 11,000' and a maximum elevation of 12,183'. The name "Trail Ridge Road" derives from it proximity to historic pathways used by native peoples to cross the Rocky Mountains.

Since when do wild turkeys have big antlers? They look like moose to me.

just messing with ya hashzepplin, but where are the wild turkeys, really?

:edit: upon closer look, those "moose" look more like bull elk or mule deer, not a moose at all. I could tell ya what a white tail deer looks like, but we don't have bull elk or mule deer around here.

The sign with the elevation was on top of trail ridge road. Their is a few other from up there as well.

The pillar shots were the hand carved pillars in the tea house

yup I'm pretty sure they were turkey, that or big grouse. If I was starving I woulda shot it, and ate it, so thats close enough to turkey for me. I saw them while hiking through the woods, on a kinda trail, while making my way into the park. As long as I have a map and compass, I can find my way ok. I got a little off track on the way back, but only by like a quarter mile.

I love the russian tea house! that place is a must see for sure.
The Poster show at the art museum was great too, the new one is really cool, they painted all the giant walls surrounding the stairs. If you know what I'm talking about...
Great shots man!
