Throw your trim in freezer bags and put them in the freezer for at least 2 weeks. You want frozen fresh trim, you'll get more hash this way.

pretty easy. Make sure you have the right bag sequence for sure ... bigger mesh inside to smaller mesh outside.

pre-freezing your stock helps make the trichs more brittle. break up the stock but don't grind it before immersing in ice-water. mix vigorously in the ice water for @ 5 mins ... brittle frozen trichs will fall off stock & into ice water.

Hopefully, you got the bag to hold your stock while mixing in ice water. if not, after vigorously mixing in ice water, skim as much of the stock out of the water as possible, then strain thru bags.

Be sure to work the trichs into the end of the bag ... spin it into a knot & then squeeze it pretty hard to get most of the water out. Makes getting the product out easier.

Don't seal it away until it is properly dried. Mold will consume it otherwise. Have fun!

use a sep. bucket with the ice/water/trim to mix, then pour into the bucket with the bags...this way no chance to rip a bag...

for best results read the instructions and check out the photos on Bubbleman's website

the best advice is to use lots of ice, manually stir with a wooden stick and do two runs (first run : five minute stir for quality.... and then for 15 minutes for the second run)

Throw your trim in freezer bags and put them in the freezer for at least 2 weeks. You want frozen fresh trim, you'll get more hash this way.

what is difference between 2 hours and 2 weeks in the freezer? why freeze the material for "at least two weeks"? ??

I didn't...the fact is frozen is frozen.....I was questioning why some other poster said to freeze for two weeks

"Freeze it for 2 weeks" is like a patriot saying "Poly wants a cracker". You hear the same thing over and over you start to repeat the same thing.

Freezing the fresh trim does help. 2 week fresh frozen trim, not sure if it makes much of a difference from 24 hours fresh frozen trim. The moisture is still in the bag, for the most part, even after 2 months of freezing, it's still icy fresh frozen trim. Freeze drying trim for 2 weeks, might be something completely different, but most of us just have a normal freezer.

Now if your talking about a well dried, cured and 6 hour frozen trim, now you've got something.

The best meltiest bubble I've made has come from fresh trim, less than a couple of hour into the ice. Let it sit and get ice cold, stir and pull...

try to use (if actually possible) snow instead of ice. the little crystals are doing much less physical damage to your green ... more of a sandblasting effect ....

I saw a guy using a mini boat oar to break the trichs in ice water/5 gal bucket. Then he simply poured the whole thing through the bags into another bucket. Your bags will last longer if you don't stir your mix inside the bags.:D

Aloha, Ribsauce

I have found that drying and curing the sugar leaf, before freezing for a few hours makes superior hash!

Here's a few tips I posted in another thread.

Bubba hash tips

Tip 1.
Is all about proper drying and curing of the sugar n popcorn before the deep freeze.
I dry well, then jar for a month, then deep freeze.
Basically, treat it like good bud. If you want your hash to taste and work like good bud.

If it's still green when ya freeze it, the end product suffers from black and green tars.
If the leaf is too fresh, the hash never dries.
Tastes nasty too.

Tip 2.
It's good to wait until the water is very cold before adding the frozen leaf if you want max yeild.
Trichs warm up real fast 'roun' here so I leave it in da freezer until the water's properly chilled.

Tip 3.
Recirculate.
I put the coarse bag in an insulated bucket with a drain hole.

Hermie uses a cooler.
Which is

er.

When I start the top bucket/cooler, I add extra water and wait about an hour for it all to chill.
I put it up on the table so it can use gravity to drain it into the lower bucket with the rest of the bubble bags in it.
To recirculate the ice water to keep up with melting ice and to wash down the sides of the coarse bag, I use a cheapie pond pump in a bottom of the second bucket.
That water is filtered by the bags so the pump sees very clean, cold, water which it pumps to the top bucket.
That lets you control exactly how "mushy" the ice is.
And that, is the key to higher yield.
Too dry, can't stir!
Too watery, not enough "bumping" to knock off the resin globs.

Tip 4.
Hand mush!
It's not that hard when the mix is right.
I used a blender once. Very bad Idea.
Chopped the leaf into itsy bits which went through the coarse screen. Feh!
Then I tried an ice cream maker.
smoke_weed.gif

Too gentle. Low yield.
A large paddle or spoon and a just right ice/water ratio has made the whole process easy, productive and rewarding for me.

That's what I got, so far.
Can't wait to see you finesse it to a science.

Topic?
Oh yeah!
Um on-topic...?

Tip 5.
When most of the water is squoze out of the hash.
Wrap it in saran and put it in the heel of your shoe.
Then take a hike.
That turns Lebanese blonde into Afghany slab.
At least cosmetically.

Then take one good hit, and play some chess.

See, on-topic!

Obviously, it was posted on a chess thread.
This got me 4.1 grams of superior hash from 40 grams of sugar leaf and popcorn buds from the same kine bubble bags.

never work resin until it is completely dry.

pressing too soon seals water into the final product, causing mold/rot/decay/degradation

just wait until its dry to press.. if you want to press at all.

Try and do it before getting high. I get so pissed off at myself when I put the bags in the opposite order than they're meant to be lol happens all the time :eggnog:

Tips for people less idiotic than I would be...
Do it in a cold place, fully dry your trim then freeze/refrigerate it if you have time, put trim in bucket before ice+water just makes it easier, make sure you rinse the bags as soon as you're done don't leave them caked in resin. I only use a wooden spoon (with small bags) and use it to create a whirlpool effect like you get with the bubbleator thing, spin like that for 15 mins changing direction frequently, careful not to fill bucket too high just over half way is fine. You can dry out and BHO the bubbled trim when you're done if you want to get every last drop.

Ribsauce, sorry to hijack but what's the press pad for? Is it to help remove excess water before extract is removed from the bags?

We only ran bags once and we didn't freeze the trim first, the only problem with that is if you don't cut the trim into smaller pieces (large fan leafs)....and break apart your frozen trim, other wise the trichromes won't fall apart.

The cold water gets the trichromes brittle enough anyhow, just let it sit there for a solid twenty minutes....cause leaf that is frozen sold together, isn't going to agitate all of the trichromes.
