my bilss average around 400-450 per quarter with 2 600's in flower and another 600 for about 4 weeks in veg as well as fans and smaller flouros for clones, but my last bill was 750,

Fukin rates just went up to 23 cents per KWH if usage goes above 1749 KWH's.
I phoned the Elec company to tell them i will be taking my business elsewhere. But they are all priced fixed, so i ended up telling the bloke to get fucked.
Oh well.

Just curious how high people have gone with their bills?
How high would it have to be to raise any suspicion?
I realize to grow a normal room properly, you'd need like at least 5k worth of lights and the bill would be into the 1.5k+

I take the bottom line including all taxes and fees, basically the amount due and divide it by the KWH usage and get my prices........ 10.2 cents. Then I bought the kill a watt to see what things around the house cost to run.... 2 rerigerators... $6 each..... stuff like that. Works great.

Oh I found by leaving the printers, scanners, office computers and personal computers running 24/7...... are costing me $35 a month just from their overnight downtime. Using the kill a watt to see it made it really easy for me to remember to turn everything off all the time until I need it. The elec bill has dropped 25 first month and another 25 this month. Lotta juice... In fact, my pool pump 2hp uses more juice in the summer than a whole grow would.

Just pay your bills Even though they are going up 23% and you will have no worries.
They cant tell an air con from light from a TV from a Pool Pump. Just go for it.

Hey guys,
I need a bit of advice, I'm getting my electrician buddy to setup my place for a capable 10kw's. I'm trying out some different strains and experimenting with vertical, dwc etc.
Now i've worked out the bill is going to be probably 2k+
My rates are something like 21-23 cents a kw with AGL.
Just wondering if i pay on time will it arouse any suspicion.

Having a chat with a girl working in a coffee shop the other day,she complained about her power bill $1200+ gotta get rid of my cloths dryer she said.also saw an old guy on the tele complaining how he wont be able to afford to pay his bill if the power company increases his rate $1000+ an he was living in a houseing com flat! so there is plenty of people geting big bills out there and i would be suprised if the power company gave a rats ass so long as you pay on time goofy81 10k is a lot to be experementing with ,good luck

Well the 10k is actually spread out to two rooms.
1 Room is vertical, 1 horizontal

All the power companies care about is money pay your bill on time all the time and you should have no worries i highly doubt these private companies like to dob in their highest PAYING customers but then again who realy knows in the end it all comes down to money and i know big companies like that...

I have no problem paying a big bill.
Im just worried a big bill will arouse suspicion.
My bill was 1500 when i had about 4k worth of lights only.
Now i'm going more than double with aircon, so i'm pretty sure my bill will hit the 3k mark.
3k is double 1500..... before growing my bill was $120-200

Many ways around suspicion (as others said they don't really care just pay it) ring them up and ask them to swap out your meter (will cost a few bucks for the sparky but they do it for free) with a 3 phase one as you will need to run a press, lathe etc. then there is no reason for suspicion and the KW rate is cheaper with 3 phase. And you can draw heaps, 240v @ 90 amps per phase = 270 amps @ 240 = more than you will ever need.

Nobody knows for sure. 3 phase sounds like a good option. Had that once and barely used enough to tick the meter over. But it would kind of be suspicious on a regular house anyway.

I think as soon as you make your grow bigger you are making your self more conspicuous. Your house will really start to smell.. more windows blacked out. More noisy fans.. aircon dripping all night. I'd be suspicious walking past your 20k residential house.
