Deleafing delaying harvest??

Hey everyone.

I ran into some mite issues, and figured the best way to get rid of them would be to remove the lower fan leaves where they seem to like most.

I removed basically every fan leaf on every plant, except the ones that were uneffected.

I expected the plants to finish in 56-63 days, but today is day 64 and they are nowhere near ready.

1 was ready, milky trichs, 3 are about to be ready within the next 2-3 days, and the other 24 dont even look close.

The strain is "Chronic" by Serious seeds.

Here is a picture to compare.

Yes, removing fan leaves can definitely push your harvest date back as well as reduce your total yield and quality dramatically. Those leaves were the plants carbohydrate storage bins for manufacturing flowers. Now, it has to rely on whatever it can still uptake from it's roots, which may be limited.

They've gotten fat, I just want them to finish nice and calyx-like.

I fed them some overdrive last night, (the ones that dont even look close), so hopefully that gives them some extra juice to finish up in the next week or so.

I also chopped one down last night that looked finish. Probably another 1 or 2 coming down tonight...the other 24, well, who knows.

Thanks for the response. I knew I didnt wanna cut the leaves off, but I had to because of mites on each and every single lower fan leaf.

Another quick question -- is there anyway a plant WILL NOT finish/ripen?

What are the odds I ruined my harvest?? These bitches need to hurry.

Like Kcar says, it's probably no harm done being so close now. Some plants because of their genetics can take long to ripen. Sometimes, further shortening the daylength can hasten them along.

Alrighty. I noticed the lower nugs are starting to ripen up moreso now. The ones that look beyond finished still have clear trichs, so im assuming these things just take a lot longer then expected. The ones that are finishing are turning amazing colors, but still shooting out random white hairs at the tops of the cola. They just wont stop growing.

The ones that dont look even close, are starting to look a little closer. My assumption is they'll go another 10 days atleast.

Thanks for the answers guys.

You are only 2 days later than your projected harvest, and the plants are, indeed, close to being done. No need to rush them now, youve waited this long. 3-7 days doesnt seem like that big of a deal to me?

I'm not worried about the ones that are clear, more-so about the ones that dont even look CLOSE to being ready. Like I said atleast 10 days...where as the ones that are super close have looked near ready for over a week in a half.

And, they're supposedly all from the same mother. Just kinda confused. Anyways.. :)
