Too much garbage weed and bad growing in Cali

Everyone has a different definition of what they "think" something is. I find this commonly among peoples definition of what a "hot" girl looks like (I can understand that some guys sleep with anything, but "hot" should not be used lightly) and with people's definition of weed. Weed is not "high grade" because it has a name on it.

With the explostion of growing marijuana and different strains of marijuana, people are getting so caught in the "names" of weed that I think they are losing touch of what good weed is. There is more to this than just "getting high". You can smoke alot of garbage weed and get high but don't trick yourself into believing something because you spent money on it!

I live in San Diego and California all around has been pretty known to have great strains of MJ. Regardless of what state you live in, if you've been around BOMB weed for a long time, you know what good shit is. But I guess people are losing their judgement on what weed is now'a days.

I've grown, (I still do), I have a med card from the State and not just some Pot Doc on the street for $100, and I went up north to San Fran to visit one of my growing buddies and while I was there, I checked out 3 dispensaries. I didn't want to drive for 10 hours with an ounce on me so I bought some while up there (until I met my boy, then he hooked me up!)

I don't want to put the names of the dispensaries on blast, but they typically will have anywhere from 6 different kinds all the way up to 30. Or more in some locations. But what I noticed was, of the places that had 11 strains or more, only 3 were good and the others were garbage! How could you name something "white widow" and it looks like commercial weed and doesn't have a smell?

How can you list on the outside of the jars "Silver Haze, Blue Dream, Afghan, Master Kush, Ol' Betsy" and other names, and have all of them are crap except for maybe a few of them? I know that not everyone is a grower, but are people really this stupid? Do they see crystals and think immediately this must be good?

I'm starting to see that now on the streets. "My boy had some JEDI and it was some FIRE shit." (and I know the JEDI) so I go to look at it and the nugs are all popcorn, has a sweet little smell, but man, is this whats going on today? All kinds of shit selling for anything?

It's December and there is waaaaaaaay too much outdoor coming from up-north (and alot of it is good weed) but alot is garbage too and the streets are flooded with anything thats green. I know there is weed that gets you SUPER HIGH, but for starters, if your weed does not have a smell, please don't call it anything! Say I have "some shit". Because that's what you have.

When you meet with one of your friends, and they haven't even pulled the sack out of their pocket and they smell like some SUPER FIRE SHIT, then you know they've probably got good weed on them. If anyone tells you "pinch the nug and smell it" it's probably garbage. You don't have to put your nose in a ziploc bag WITH AN OUNCE IN IT to smell it.

I'm just rambling and wondering if others have seen this decline in people's judgement also. Is there a flood of garbage where you live too? I know when a rookie comes and thinks it's paradise because their smokin brown-brick weed, or weed with stems, and anything that looks green must be great to them, but have you noticed this in your area too? Have people just tricked themselves into thinking their weed is great because they bought it in a med shop or it has a name on it?

The shops around here are declining in quality, but I think they're not worried because they can still sell the garbage to people. Some shops will have a few good strains, but majority are not worth your money. Or maybe were in a recession and people can't afford $60 - $75 eigths of some killer dank. But I'm saddened by this.

Sorry for rambling guys. I get so upset when buddies try to claim "they have this kind, or they have that kind" and its not all that.

Someone else has to feel the same way!

All that I will say is that for every person that says it's flooded, every single friend I have in that state who actually does have fire(a vast, vast difference from those who think they do)gets great money for their bud and can't get rid of it fast enough.

I drove with less than a quarter on me, (me and two guys) and we fired it up on the long streches of the 5 highway while cruising so not to turn heads. Regardless if you have a Med Card, smoking weed and driving is still a DUI so I didn't want to risk anything since I grow.

If I'm in Jail, or my car is impounded, I can't check my ladies. Can't have a harvest failure because I'm a stoner. Gotta use your brain sometimes

I've had a number of crops turn out to be pretty low odor, due to a pair of CAN150's going full boogie. They really do pull a lot of smell out of the weed, even after a cure it's still pretty "soft" smelling. It did not affect the smokeability or high though, was still very strong/potent weed, just didn't have much smell.

I hear you on the shit weed though, too many clubs will buy crap and won't buy the good stuff because they spent all their money on shit weed. Losers.

LOL - Thank you Lazy! I was wondering if my compass was off!! Clubs will still pay good prices for pounds of the DANK, but when I see the other selections, I'm sure they hustled the guy who tried to sell it to them.

Then they turn around and make $6,400 a pound by selling it at retail. I'm just shocked that people will pay $50 - $60 for weed that is not worth the money. Some people just don't want to look around, they are in the shop and they are happy to buy whatever they see I guess?

I was super dry yesterday and had to pick up some meds. One of the friend said this stuff is DANK and its super PURPLE, he said he got it from some old hippy. All this was before meeting up with him and check the stuff out, i told him to give me half o/ ( price was 200 ).

I went to meet up with him and pick up the stuff, when he pulls out the bag there was no odors or any sort, closer look it looks really purple.

I open the bag and it smells like mex weed, i pick up the nugs and break it, holyshiet all the purple color start falling off. ( they painted it food coloring ). I had to take it because i asked my friend to pick it up for me and he paid already.

Last night i burned an 8th of that stuff and barely got high.

bummer.

I don't have a med card, or shops I can walk into to select from one strain, let alone 30. But in my opinion, smell takes a backseat every time to potency/quality of high and growability, but then again I'm not spoiled by easy variety either.

I know an asshole that used to spray his weed with some kind of chemical spray and the high would get you high (but sort of like a dizzy high) and the spray would not only make the weed look presentable, but it weighed it down and he could sell less weed for more money! I can't believe what these assholes do! LOL

I think most, if not all dispensaries/clubs put all the weed that comes in, into a kief
roller and roll the crap out of it, to make the hash they sell. Thats why it's hard nugs
with little or no smell. They keifed it all off!

i'm can't say i have that connoisseur desire for smells or tastes yet, but i have noticed and influx of beaster-esque weed that i'm guessing comes from cali.

definitely pre-tumbled but compressed in a manner that is way less visibly damaging than can/mex stuff i see is. priced like its "high quality" and usually called dro or more and more these days the infamous "kush"

thebottom line is that there is every kind of herb available it has always been like this. You used to have to pay 100 bucks for an eigth of schwagg from the first club in Sf and when they did have weed no body cared what is was called as long s you got irie! but now there are a lot of cats trying to get in the game and they are using miracle grow or kool bloom or maxi bloom or whatever and just not flushing, not using good soil, not getting enough water or light, you know all the noobie mistakes. And then they grow like 20 pounds of it and flip it for like 1800 a piece. Now you have clubs lookin at all the dub sacks and eitgths they are sellng and find profit motive in that cheap herb. They will still keep some high grade around but it wont cost them as much as they used to pay cuz the market is saturated forever now. I men you can still kick stuff around but isnt easir to be legit with the clubs or at least a legit broker.

also my last point is the saddst part of all, the fact that there are little kids running around these clubs praising the Indoor cannabis when it is the Outdoor that is Vastly superior to the innies. Any preson who has been blazin for long enough and has had th epleasure of smoking propery grown organic outdoor will tell you it is not even similiar to indoor. I dont even get high from indoor. I spent 65 bucks on some stuff called sour grapes, yeah they were sour alright, i didnt even get high. Now when I break out some outdoor green crack or some of my lemon venom. OMG the high is so complete and thourough and it tastes like candy

ive had some below average crops(for me) and i still get top dollar from my buyers(a few disp-) I dont give a crap what they do with it,I am lucky they take it as I wouldnt sell it to my friends unless it is gradeAAA which it is 90% of the time. If the dispensaries have an influx i will wait till it dries up alittle,I have no Qualms selling so-so weed
