Any one coming to the 5th annual Emerald Cup December 12th? It is the only advertised Medical Marijuana Cannabis Cup in the States. It is at Area 101 five miles north of Laytonville in Mendocino county. Area 101 is an awesome campground facility that puts on live music events. They are also becoming a collective of sorts. They had a harvest ball there a couple weekends back. Last year there were 45 entries so competition is fierce. Entries have to be in by DEC first. One ounce to enter. I am still debating if I will enter anything. Heavy Weight Dub Champion and Wisdom will be headlining and music starts at 4:20 with gates open at 12:00. Trim Scene Solutions will be there showing and giving away there Twister dvd that has some of my footage and pics in it. Should be a really good time and hopefully the weather will cooperate. Somehow I knew using the word only would get someones panties in a bunch. I did not use the word first. I know of at least two others but they are small and private. This is well advertised,open to the public and a pretty large event. Should be a great time. Don't not come just because it is not the first and only.

And a Romulan that I don't have any pics of but it was one of the greasiest plants ever. Kind of hard narrowing it down. I hear that last year there were a lot of people selling seeds at this event. Really looking forward to it.

Hey Jointed, the only info I have found online is the link posted in the first post of this thread. It is the owner of Area 101's myspace page. The event is at Area 101 ten miles north of Laytonville on Highway 101 on the right side of the road. Area 101 is right on the road so it is very easy to find. Gates open at 12 and music starts at 4:20. I think it is $20 to get in. There is camping available but it is going to be pretty cold so bundle up.

hey humbolt yeah i called tim and he said they are getting the site up today or manana. He said if i call him he would put you on the list even if i cant get a ticket so i am excited, something to do after all these days stressin!

I didn't get to enter anything and today was the cut off date. I am not sure if I will even be able to attend at this point. I heard from a friend that the judges are biased towards herb grown in Mendo so maybe they are just as corrupt as the HT Cannabis Cup. Should be a really good time any ways and I hope I can still make it.

Hahaha yeah you have to think almost all cups are going to have at least a little biased....prob not as bad as HTCC. We need a NorCal cup to encompess all of northern CA and have it be like a 3 or 4 day event. Maybe in the spring? I will try to get some land lined up but I cant imagine needing more than 10 or 20 acres.

yeah humbolt i am doing a back and forth this weekend to the coast so probably wont be able to make it that far a week later....but you never know!

Good time at the cup. Weather was lousy and cold but lots of fun anyways. They had a glass case with the 102 entries in it. Not a lot of impressive bud. Maybe ten percent looked decent. A lot was very poorly trimmed. I talked with a judge and he said it is blind judging so it can't be rigged. He said the trim job and appearance played a big role in the judging and he was surprised at the poor trim quality of some of the bud entered. There were a lot of young drunk dudes there with a very small female population. Normally that would lead to a lot of fights and animosity but everyone was so stoned that there were no problems. The herb really does bring peace. Next year I will definitely get my entries in in time. Here are some pics I took in front of my friends booth. We smoked a few pinners.

thanks humbolt, sorry to hear about the bad trimmed stuf. They need to get a twister!!! hahaha. No i prefer a close personal trim but next yer i am getting a twister end of story.
