Superpedro...what an amazing grow! Reading back in the thread when a few said that your pots were too close to the screen, I had my doubts as well, but looking at the pics shows that you really knew what you were doing! I am going to use some of your ideas in my new cab that I am building!

Thanks for stopping by and all the kind words! :)

Excellent thread.......I would like if you could elaborate on the CO2......I am thinking of using it to kill any spider mites........thanks....peace....O.

It's the first time I've tried it after reading about it at the infirmary here on ic.
I made sure the ventilation was high and the humidity low (moisture can turn into acid and could perhaps burn your leafs? better to be safe than sorry)
I've done 10.000ppm for 1½ 3 times with 3 days apart, and can't find any live ones or eggs anymore. No visual damage to the plants.

The first time I tried it only about half of them died, but that was when I left the light on during the treatment.

I'm feeling a little DIYish today.

Finished some parts for drying the crop (to be fitted above the carbon scrubber) and a light proof vent (Big thanks to scrubs for that idea :) ) that fits between flower cab and ventilation cab.

I'm stealing the design and some parts from a dps system, making 3 of these, each holding 6 plants and 3 sprinklers.
That should fit perfectly in my cab as an 18 plant aero sog. system.
aerobuild.jpg

(I've lined up 6 pots as they will be fitted in the lid.)

Instead of an external bio filter I'm planning to save some space, and the use of an extra pump, by fitting it inside the reservoir.
This is my idea:

I'll be back :D

Excited to see where those aero rows go. They look perfect... And since I do love aero (I have peppers in a lowpressure setup right now) I'm sure they'd be fun to make and work with.

Good to see the CO2 takes care of mites like it does. Gonna have to spend some time looking into my options for CO2 would help with my temps and your method looks easy enough to follow along.

Also your grow looks very happy & healthy and I'm excited to see it finish... Looks like some happy holidays for you!

Thanks guys, I'm happy you like it!

I've been using an awful soil mix with low drainage, wrong Ph and without any nutes in it at all. They turned out very good considering I've had to catch up with everything along the way.
I mix my macro nutes from nutrient salts and get most micro nutes from some left over GH-micro.

I have pre-mixed some macro nutes making DIY fertilizer just as easy to use as any you can buy.

It costs less than 0,1$ to make a bottle of PK boost yourself :)

I got my humidity control for the DIY dehumidifier. After this grow all my controls will be mounted outside the cabs. Can't wait!

I love those terraium control units. They can run both humidifier or dehumidifier and heater or cooler setups, it can be programmed to run a lower humidity at night, has an alarm that tells me if the DIY dehumidifier is running low on salts. Besides that they each have an extra timer build in to use for lights or whatever.

After this grow, I won start another before February. I'm going on a vacation last half of January, and I cant' really relax 100% if I got that to worry about while I'm away. On the positive side, that gives me a lot of time to fine tune the cab and aero system.
I look forward to selecting what I'm going to grow next. This is my first try of two f-seeds, and I've ended up with two phenotypes, one with small fat leafy dense buds, and one taller heaver yilder with a low leaf to bud ratio.
I still don't know what strain I'll choose though.

This is one of my new watchdogs (phytoseiulus persimilis), they should make sure I get to the end of this grow without any new visitors. I'm not trying to breed this specie since I haven't had any luck with flour mites yet, haven't tried breeding them before, harvest is close, and I'm taking the small break from growing canna.
I'll order some "Amblyseius cucumeris" (works against both spider mites and thunder flies)early February and get the breeding started

A couple more.

I'm doing a small experiment. After a lot of successful trials in professional plant production, I'm using light from an UV-C bulb on one bud from the cab. 10 seconds 3-4 times a week.
uv.jpg

Test have proven 10 seconds of light 4-6 times a week to be 95% effective protecting against mildew and mold in plants that is usually very easily infected, without any tissue damage to the plant.
I'm screening one bud from the others when I flash it. I want to make sure it has no negative effect on the potency.

Hej Sp

Go aften

Hey EG.

It's UV-C, and that is a lot different from any other wavelengths. It has a wavelength that penetrates the cell and messes up the DNA, eventually killing all living tissue. You need to protect skin and eyes when working with it. UV light is efficient at breaking down THC, thats why I'm careful testing on one bud at first.
It has been tested on mold and mildew. In some professional greenhouses they have UV-C pl-l's mounted along the spray bar.

I've seen some talk of UV ranges that should be beneficial for growing, but no scientific arguments and it contradicts everything I know about light and plants.
