How much undergrowth should be allowed? Help is always nice

I have 2 hempy buckets at 2 weeks flowering, I need to trim up the under side of them. How far up the stalk should I clear out? I'm using a 400w cmh bulb for the 2 main plants. I have a third but that's not what this is about. But from the area of the third I'm using a 420 w clf system( 4-105w). So in the middle, bc they're lined up Ina row, gets the most light, right? Well I've read that 400 can get down in to the plant as far as about a foot down. That's what makes me wonder, since I have the other 420 shooting through that maybe I wouldn't have to cut so many branches up, right? Well jus sitting here wondering these things. Well,What do you people think out there? Thanks in advance for any help.

Need pics. Are your plants so dense you worry about mold? When I grew outdoors 30-40% of the plant never got any direct light at all but, we never chopped off the north side of the plant.

If you mean the Hempy Grow, it looks good to me. I wouldn't trim anything unless it looked dead.
