Yes they do. Root grow slows as bloom progresses, but it never completely halts.

Well, i have no comparison really but my roots grow like hell in flowering, alot more than my clones atleast, but considering wattage=plant size= roots size its not really a mystery. Anyway its a well known fact that plants grow roots in the dark period, if that is if you keep within the veg time or not i do not know, but as said roots grow like hell in flowering (aswell).

God answer? I believe it is not.

Many strains almost stop completely after the first few weeks of flowering (roots keep growing a bit till the last weeks but slowly) Some slow sativas can have roots grow a lot for several weeks till ~mid flowering.

Some stains will fill the pot up after they have been transplanted while in flower, and others will sort of hover in the vicinity that it started out and never fill the pot with roots.
I have stopped transplanting right after sexing and have started transplanting into final container before sexing and let the roots get situated in the new medium. Nearly all plants will fill the pot if done this way before 12/12. The other way is a crap shoot unless you know the cultivar.
