Does Homebox Work?

I am perfectly aware there are a lot of threads regarding grow tents. But with very limited access to a computer I'm totally confused with what is said out there.

But here it is. Although my thumbs are pretty green, I am not a very good diy'er... In the past I have tried to build several systems, with bad results, and I've damaged my previous apartment with the humidity.

To make matters worse, my country is rather in the back waters when it comes to grow equipment, and all that is available is Homebox. For a while I've been considering the HB XXL. Would you good folks who have experience please advice me? Hearsay is not very helpful...

So, do I screw up by buying the Homebox, or is it adequate to enable me to continue with the greatest hobby I ever had?

Cheers, G

What is the plan here? And yes the homebox works for having the equipment and plants inside for a protected and lightproof spot, but its not a growing system.

Thanks Cy :)

I've got all I need of equipment, my goal is to separate the grow from the room. I believe this would help against humidity in the room itself, provided sufficient ventilation.

Is there a problem with toxic fumes from the HB? And is the reflective material (original white ones) good enough? I supose I could always install some mylar, but that would compromise removability, I suspect?

I wouldn't be pestering you like this if it wasn't so hard to manage without the meditation it is to tend those beautiful ladies. Any and all constructive (or borderline constructive) advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Peace and greens, G

high i have a homebox xl

but when your room is too humid you will need a dehumidifer or else you will get mold.

I grow in a homebox in a cellar that is located outdoors , so sometimes even with the dehumidifer i get mold in big buds.

I will soon move it into my house

no need for construction just get a homebox or secret jardin tent,,,itl make your life easy,,just easily assemble it within 10 minutes, add your light and ducts and fan,,and your done in about 20 minutes,,,almost completly light proof ,and easy to get in and out,,i love mine,,,,u do not need anymore reflective material or anything
as far as fumes homebox and secret jardin tents (DR) tents,,,do not offgass,,while the older models of hydrohut have been known to offgass

All you need is a Darkroom/Growbox, a light with a vented hood, carbon scrubber, a a few fans and a place to exhaust. The fans can be loud though. The Darkroom brand is quality, if you go to the thread on it you'll find some good info, checkout Mr. Bojangles set up and others like it and you should be good to go with very little construction.

Does anybody out there know about any good european grow shops that ship Europe-wide?
After years of searching I've found three grow shops in my entire country, and they stock the same merchandise at prices you would not believe... After searching some foreign sites I've discovered that it's at least twice the prices you guys get...

I found this, http://www.head-nature.com, anyone had anything to do with them?

Sounds like you live in my country...

Pflanzburg.de is great. Udopea.de looks good too

Stay away from hydroponics.eu, they add a ridiculous "customs fee" when you're finished shopping, which is 60 euros just for printing out the receipt as a document for customs.

If i were to advice of any shop it would be progrow.co.uk, they ship everywhere and they are actually pretty cool dudes that help you out with whatever, however the main attraction is the price, as my last check they averaged below head-nature and have a better website. Also they ship the same day you pay and you can use paypal.

And might i note i have no releation to progrow, i have just used them for my orders and i love em.

And to your question; humidity is always a problem with small grow spaces, just make sure as you say to have proper ventilation. And you wont be needing any more reflective material.

I can also recommend the homebox. According to the manufacturer they have no problem with outgassing. They are smelling a bit when they are new, but only at the beginning. After a few days (and open windows) the smell ist gone and you can start to put it into operation
