Hi all you ICMAG'ers, I just wanted to know how long people who are chronic's or smoke everyday(multiple times),,like myself..How long you go when you decide to NOT SMOKE..I have been smoking for 20 plus years and find if I don't have a "drying out period" I don't get the same pleasure(tolerance is very high)..so I TRY(key word) and not smoke for a few days..and the lol go back to it..BUT recently I have been finding I only get a buzz for like 30mins and then am normal(not high)..And i am wasting a lot of good weed..and don't say get better quality..LOL i think thats my problem..I smoke too good quality..so i don't get as high as if i was smoking mid grade..Currently i am smoking Chemdog and it still gets be so rocked..I just know..i mean i can tell my tolerance is way high..so HOW LONG TO GO WITHOUT TO GET TOLERANCE BACK?

peace

I've noticed a change after a few weeks.

Question-why keep repeating this cycle? Clearly you're not happy with the way pot fits into your lifestyle right now. So why just revert back intentionally when the high inevitably comes tumbling back to hazy mediocrity?

Keep it to the weekends man.

Also try flushing your body out when you take breaks. Lots of water, lots of fiber, maybe mix in some cranberry/lemon juices.

I've noticed it helps me a lot - as far as tolerance goes at least.

You are just forcing your body to have withdrawals by stopping suddenly, I'd say smoke only at night and you will feel a huge difference. Smoking in the morning or before the evening highly increases tolerance IMHO.

this is soooo true (expect for the withdrawls part -- theres no withdrawls from weed sorry its not physically addictive at all - withdrawls are what people experience when they kick heroin; vomiting, chills the whole lot -- you dont get any of that from smoking weed)

i found that when i stopped with the wake and bake
my high in the afternoon and at night became much more enjoyable; and longer lasting

but like others have said nothing wrong with taking a break

if you just want to stop for the purpose of lowering your tolerence id say 30 days to get a full effect but even as short at 3-4 days you should feel signifigantly different

i mean i can tell my tolerance is way high..
Switch strains more often. One week Chemdog, next week Lemon Skunk, week after Princess Diesel and then back to Chemdog. You'll find that the further away from the strain base you get, the better the effect will be.

I get burnt out on some strains within a few days to a week, others, Like Princess Diesel, seem to work and work and work. *shrug*

Stay Safe!

I'm actually cutting back on smoking. Ive toked nightly for the past 4 months or so. Before that I was clean for 3 months. I figured that it was time to seriously cut back on the weed. I was beginning to see noticeable stains on my lips and surrounding areas because i was taking multiple bonghits every night. I didn't want them to worsen, because they're unsightly. I think the smoking was drying out my lips and gums too. Its interesting, on the morning after the first night of no toking, my head was noticeably more clear and awakened even after sleeping for only 4-5 hours. This is night 3 of no smoking for me. However, I am not planning to cut off smoking permanently - only bonghits. I might smoke a joint or two during the weekends, but i will be clean during the entire week. I figure this is a good time to cut back, especially since im in college. I want to feel and look my best. I dont want stains on my lips, mouth, and teeth. I dont want dry and thinning lips. I dont want tired looking eyes anymore. I want to be energized and see how well i am without getting high every night. I want a clearer outlook on life.

I feel sad seeing you guys go through this, because unlike 99% of drugs, weed truly and genuinely can be great-once you find your zone. I, too, have struggled in the past finding how weed fits into my life.

Once you find it, though, it's perfect. For me it's weekend tokes and an occasional edible during the week. I know a guy who is high on crazy, paranoia-inducing sativa's basically all day every day and he's sharp as a tack. I couldn't handle that.

Truckin, I think i know what you're talking about. I had been toking every night for the past 4 [edit] months. I've been clean for 3 days, and I definitely see a sort of clearing in my mind It feel's as if an invisible fog that I was blind to while I was under the influence (more or less) had begun to show itself in reality. The good part is that its beginning to part, just like the "brain fog" in my thoughts. I see the day as some sort of a new beginning - it just feels so different. I hadn't been clearheaded for 4 months before I stopped the nightly smokes 3 days ago. It kind of makes me feel younger because I'm in a state of the past; that consciousness I recall being in before I started the smoking.

Sometimes when it's the same strain it gets depressing not really getting that big high that is interesting. I never got old of hash, it seems to be a supply issue...the daily mandate not really interesting anymore....maybe life needs a change, try doing some activities that are different.

Plus it's winter, things get old quick! I honestly find the weed high to be associated with sperm count, wait until that reservoir fills itself up quickly again...sometimes things find a low vitality.

I get the problem of tolerance buildup from time to time as well, My solution is: edibles and hashish. Eat a cookie, throw some keif in your joint, you'll never know what hit you and you'll smoke less.

i hear ya on that but its not long after you get the same tolerance for hash...im going to start making edibles soon

A week....Depending on how much 'smart work' I did during the week instead of making mistakes all week around the house.

Toke a joint(2 hits)..then Bam,medicated for at least 6-12 hours.

Going Clear to Stoned Works Wonders

Going Semi-stone to stoned then you-want-to-get-more-stoned.

Experience pays off baby!

a month and it will be like your first time

tomorrow it has been a month for me :D got lot's og goodies waiting but i won't get far as tasting is concerned , prolly fall asleep after half a gram of weed

I like to take break in between harvests so I can get a real good feel from the new smoke... I highly recommend breaks because I think it allows you to appreciate the weed more when you do smoke, and you get a better experience from new highs
