God i was doing so good

seems like its either the cold weather killing my babies, or the bad case of the THRIPS i had

i dont know whats going on, but some of my not so strong red diesel clones wont ever root.

i was lucky enough to get 1 to root, and it didnt do that well in flower at all

any way im wondering what i can do to help out my baby clones?

is it necessary to clean out my machine every so often, i have never clenaned it but it looks ok

i sprayed my clones with safer soap to help rid the thrips, that didnt work so i used parenthium spray and that got rid of the little bitches, wow they almost spoiled my fun

any way maybe i contaminated my water eh?

i dont know

i use distilled water from the tap always have and have never had any prob up until now

id always let the water set in a 5 gallon jug sealed for at least a day or so

please help.

the leaves look a real yellowish dieng brown color on the outter edges.

thanks

should i keep spraying for thrips???:thanks:

You didn't say what kind of cloning machine. If you mean an EZ Cloner, catastrophic failure is a regular occurrence. Maybe this will help.

Cloners of this sort should be sterilized after every use. I'd suggest a 5% bleach solution and a STRONG rinse.

Distilled water and tap water are two different things. Distilled water is dead water and better left to batteries and irons.

If you are having thrip trouble, get some spinosad... kills thrips dead lol. What temp is the room your clones are in? I took some clones on the 13th and they are just starting to root now lol, but my veg room has sometimes been under 70 degrees and I don't have a heat mat.

yes this may be of my doing i have NEVER cleaned my machine EVER

i dont know if my water is distilled or not, i just run it from the tap and let it sit for a few days hoping the bad stuff will disolve out i guess i herd it does

any way it is a DIY cloner with around 32 sites

yeah i prob do need to clean it

thats gonna be a pain thanks

i can still use the plants that r in it now tho right?

just sit them aside while i clean and add them back later correct??

thanks man!!!

and my upstairs aint heated at all, i have to keep my aircondition on cause my hps comes on when i aint here

shit i dont know what the hell im gonna do

i put a heater in the diy cloner i built and it is seeming to help a little i set it on like 78 - 82 degrees i believe

How long have the clones been heated? Because cold temps will definetly cause slow rooting of clones. Spinosad is sold by home depot(never seen it at walmart but haven't really looked either) , monterey garden inspect spray, its a liquid you mix in water, then you would spray on your plants.

PS spinosad (or at least monterey garden inspect spray) is omri certified and intended for food crops.

You still haven't told us what you're using. When you said "cloning machine" I assumed you were talking a factory unit like an EZ Cloner.

Are you doing aero or a bubbler (water pump or, air pump with airstones)?

Allowed to sit, tap water will indeed off gas things such as chlorine however, it still contains minerals vital for plant growth. Distilled water has nothing in it, water is boiled, the steam collected which is then condensed back into liquid leaving all minerals behind.

While established plants prefer a sub 70ºF root temp, clones prefer 75º-80º.

god i hope it isnt too late

thank u

you bring up a good question, you said you leave your water out with the cap ON, how can the chlorine and stuff "go away" if you've sealed the container?

and don't use bleach to clean your equipment, i use miltons (uk) baby bottle sterilizer, (usa) will have similar doesn't need rinsing

clean with 20%h202, and run it with 2%h202. watch the roots boom, d

thats hydrogen peroxcide correct?

does it matter if the tops of the plants are chilly, cause my room gets down to like maybe 55 or 58 degrees when im not here?

could thios b part of the problem??

thanks you all, i need help, id like to try and save my red diesel mom plant its holding on for dear life

and it grows SOOO SLOW!!!!

i think you mentioned you have diy cloner, correct? not that it matters as you hit the nail on the head several times with the comments on cold. you will have problems getting your cuts to root with an air temp of 60 degrees. i just lost a tray full myself for the same reason. weather turned, got cold, and i was too slow to react and now it is too late. your cloner needs to be in a closet where you can control air and root temps. but it also needs to be cleaned with a mild bleach solution after every run, no exceptions! and ditch the distilled water and use bottled spring water from now on. peace-biteme

You need a heater, or some way to warm those clones up, actually you need to warm the whole room up as its too cold even for rooted plants, or at least not optimal.

yeah man your room gets too cold at night.

lets also get down to your cloning technique... how do you cut? do you use rooting hormone or cloning gel?
