Thanks bro.

Today I found a few spider mites in my cab. The silver spots were on one leaf only, and under the microscope - sure enough - egg's, hatched infants and two adult's, a happy family ready to consume my future stash!!.
I'm so ready to start breeding predator mites again along with you.

I found no mites and no signs elsewhere. I gave the local area where I found them a wash in "Spruzit".
It's still early in the grow, and I didn't include more than 5 buds in the wash. Since Spruzit kills by contact, I spray them with clean water 30 minutes later, hoping the taste won't be affected.
If I don't see any signs, I won't spray them the usual second time..

Anyway: Day 26

Just been sprayed.

What a great canopy, you've got a beautiful sog going on in there. Too bad about the mites, sounds like you've got it under control though!
Nice grow :pimp3:

Thanks all!! What a great audience, it lites my spark.

Those mites are doomed. Nothing can stop this football field of buds :D

Thanks scrubs.
The field will receive a little helping hand :)
I found an egg on a leaf close to the initial infestation. Sunday they will receive a CO2 treatment, and I've ordered some predator mites to release and breed Monday or Tuesday.:whip:

pedro. i want similar buds/flowers in my box... advice? cb

:)
A lot of tying down my friend.
Tie them down to the net when the stems go soft before watering.

One thing I like about the pll's is how far down in the canopy the light reaches, they seem to get enough light to mature quite evenly almost down to the net.

I've measured the power consumption of my cab. Besides the light I was using allot of extra on an atx-power supply and my dehumidifier.
I fixed the power supply, my fans now use an AVG of 14 watts an hour.
The dehumidifier is a bigger problem. It doesn't run very efficient i such a small cab. When it starts, it takes 5 minutes before it actually brings down the humidity. And than it only takes half a minute before it shuts off again. It does that every 15 minutes, and it creates extra heat.
I'm now building a low energy dehumidifier using salts in a rubbermaid, and a fan rigged to suck air through it, controlled by a hygrostat. It would run cool, and shouldn't be so efficient. Rather have a device running 75 % of the time, since it wouldn't create the same roller coaster humidity.

Have a nice weekend

Haha the cake :D How did you fix the power supply, did you change to another more efficient one? Your dehum idea is incredibly inventive

Hey there superpedro! Props for making that cab. It looks awesome and so does that cake :D I'll keep watching.

All the best

Thanks guys. The cake is a result of squeezing "enough" buds into a curring bucket :D

Yes. I'm now running just the watt's needed to get the amp's for my fans.

I've also had circulation problems, 12V's was too much and 5 not enough. Now i have a powersupply with 5 working speed steps at the turn of a button.
The plants give of a lot of humidity at the size they are now, and the heat from the light and dehumidifier combined with poorly ventilated spots from an uneven airflow(from my "air diffuser" trying to slow the 12V storm) over the plants, has turned some spots the middle of the screen light green.
hot-1.jpg

The diffuser is gone and the air is slowed down and now flowing freely.
I'm ok with the way the fans are hooked up now, but I can't wait until this test run is over. I need to make multiple intakes to my flower box for a slow and steady airflow, and a aero system would really kick ass in there.
This grow has been a step behind all the way through the grow: bad soil that holds 2L of water in each pot, I've had to mess with the Ph, I was a behind in the N department from the middle 12/12 and now I'm catching up on calcium and battling spider mites.
I've been punished for my spontane start.:bashhead:

Speaking about mites:
Found more eggs and small ones. Bombed them with 10.000ppm's of CO2 today, waiting for predator mites.
co2bomb.jpg

The DIY dehumidifier has been installed, and seems to be working, even though I haven't got a hygrostat yet.
I'm running the fan set at low rpms, so that it alone won't be able to take the humidity below 40% until I receive one. That way it assists the other dehumidifier and it only needs to run once in a while.
dehumid-1.jpg

I found the system working better with the fan blowing turbulent air in, rather than sucking it out.

Day 29: 7-10 days before I begin flushing if they mature on schedule:eggnog:

Niiice. What do you think of the SilenX fan? I heard they overblow their specs pretty bad. That's a fast crop too.

Thanks.

I doubt the fans live up to their specs. 14db? No where near.
But the noise to flow rate ratio is still really good IMO.

I've found some dead mites after 1 hour at 10.000ppm CO2, but I have also found survivors. (this is from today)
spidermite.jpg

I'm giving them another treatment tonight.
I forgot to use my mind leaving the light on the first time I tried... the plants pumps out O2 under the leaf - where the mite lives..

I'm still waiting for the predator mites....
I'll take pictures when I get the breeding started, I'm hoping to find some left over flour mites with the predators, since I'm having a little trouble finding them this time of year.
