I know you've all probably read these before, but a 600w in a tent in a house with an attic above it, I'm not sure if it will be detectable or not, Any comments anyone?

not sure what you mean man; detectable by whom ? your family? um... probably an indoor grow is very detectable to anyone living inside the house with you, unless you have a very big house and a secret room or something... or a very big back yard...
why not do an outdoor personal gorila grow instead?

good luck

HAHA, not worried about anyone but LEO! detectable by the law, every one else is cool with it, excluding neighbours although we have a good carbon scrubber, enough ventilation to suck the plant out the soil and a tent, i meant through FLIR.

Just thought i'd add, we're running a 600hps an inline fan rated at 550cfm and a 1mx1mx2m budbox, strains are 2 chiesel and 4 L.A confidential

The problem with removing heat signature is that its also detectable, the lack of signature compared to sorroundings, just have plenty of ventilation and no one will notice a 600w, its no more than a skimpy heater would use anyway.

and lol @blinddate :p

thanks cyber, it's in a pretty big house and as i said there is an attic above it and also a boiler and hot water tank nearby so i think we should be okay.

If you own this house, thats definatly not a bad idea. If not, shit does happen, and just remember that someday, for some reason, your landlord may enter the attic to fix the hot water heater or any other problems that are up there.

I've got a 1500 watt heater beside me, and its just one of those cheap walmart variety, i wouldn't worry about a 600 watt lamp being caught by flir.

you could use that IR blocking mylar. Depending on how large the attic is, you could do the foot print of the tent.

personally, i really dont believe LEO does this unless youre on their radar already. Besides, many people are coming up with ways to block FLIR, and youd have to think the LEO would know this and stop spending money on helicopters with IR. Bottom line : if youre in a small town with proper security from your neighbors, i wouldnt worry about it.

Helicopters are sometimes overhead at night, but i dont know if they have FLIR or not, thats the thing, my theory is it's better to be safe than sorry, Thanks a lot for the advice guys, anyone have any experience in blocking FLIR? or know a good material to do it.

Dude, stop it. The DEA is not manning fucking helicopters to swarm in on Tommy McSmallfry's 600 watt closet grow.

I mean that in the nicest way possible. You're doing something illegal, sure, but it's not a mass grave. It's plants.

You're fine.
