is there possibility. I Havent been able to find a glimmer of hope. I have a few friends that told me they just put another bill in, but i cant find aything on it.

So start sending your reps and congresspeople letters about MMJ! The more input they get the better! Feel free to use my "Granny Storm Crow's list- July 2009" (linked below in my sig) as a place to start educating them! Grab a couple of articles or abstracts, add a short letter and you're good to go! May I also suggest that you make a printed copy of your email and send it "snail mail"- politicians are more likely to respond to paper letters than emails.

My rep has responded to every email written, good or bad so I can't complain. He is not pro pot though, be it medical or not. Same old gateway and morality argument. He'll probably slam a beer in a heartbeat though...

NC will go medical before tennesse i'd think. Isn't a half ounce still a felony there? Thats how i remember and it hasn't been that long ago.

Yup, we got shit laws. Everything's a damn felony. Mandatory minimums too. They're pretty good about diversion and probation though.

Possession, delivery or sale of one-half ounce or less is punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine up to $2,500.

For delivery or sale of amounts over one-half ounce the penalty increases to 1 - 6 years in prison and a fine up to $5,000. Delivery or sale of 10 pounds or more is punishable by 2 - 12 years in prison and a fine up to $5,000. For amounts of 70 pounds or more, the penalty increases to 8 - 30 years in prison and a fine up to $200,000. Delivery or sale of 300 pounds or more carries a penalty of 15 - 60 years in prison and a fine up to $500,000.

Any sale to a minor or any sale within 1,000 feet of a school increases the penalty classification one level.

Cultivation of 10 - 19 plants is punishable by 2 - 12 years in prison and a fine up to $50,000. For cultivation of 20 - 99 plants, the penalty increases to 3 - 15 years in prison and a fine up to $100,000. For 100 - 499 plants the penalty increases to 8 - 30 years in prison and a fine up to $200,000. Cultivation of 500 or more plants is punishable by 15 - 60 years in prison and a fine up to $500,000.

For all first convictions for misdemeanor drug offenses there is a mandatory minimum fine of $250. For second convictions the mandatory minimum increases to $500 and for subsequent convictions, it increases to $1,000. For all fist convictions of felony drug offenses there is a mandatory minimum fine of $2,000, increasing to $3,000 for second convictions and to $5,000 for any subsequent convictions.

The use or possession of paraphernalia is punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine up to $2,500. Sale of paraphernalia carries a penalty of 1 - 6 years in prison and a fine up to $3,000.

Something has changed recently with the possession laws I don't know about or they fucked up.
