Hello IC Community!
I'm starting a PC micro grow, and i need some help.

Case space = 32Cm X 30cm, 17cm depth.
I plan on using two 42W CFL bulbs.

But i have 2 questions=

1) in a micro grow can i go 12/12 cycle from beginning to end??
I've heard that's a new trend for better sized plants for a small case.

2)What kind of intake do i need?

1) Yeah you can 12/12 from seed but better to scrog or lst - you have more control of how it fills your space and when it flowers.
2) If you are planning a carbon filter (to eradicate the smell) I would use passive intake. Whichever intake you choose, you want it at the bottom as cold air sinks, and it contributes to better airflow circulation.

I would also suggest removing the CD docks - pointless. And you want your exhaust fan at the very top because heat rises. Looks great though, wish you a lot of success in your new cab.

sorry im new and i dont understand most abbreviations.

What is scrog and lst?

PS: yea its picture of the hard drives, the hard drive dock seems to be not removable so i left it intact.

I plan on using it house the 2 sockets.

If the HardDrive dock is the new Bulb-Socket dock, i was thinking of poking holes through that picture of Hard drives to create air flow in between the light bulb chamber.

Thanks fuzz. So it really is a picture of the drives? Wow, I've never seen that done before. I'm not sure if it would fool someone? You can purchase blank faceplates that should clip right in, from ebay or a computer store, or obtain the faceplates from old discarded units, if it helps.

You can drill out the rivets as mentioned (even without a drill, just twist the drill bit with your hand) and I would still recommend it, better access and airflow and probably light coverage. For your air to come in, you want it to come in at the bottom, even if this seems nonsensical.

If you own a hacksaw, I would recommend the light trap in my signature, made out of aluminium angle. This will let air through while not letting the light through. Remember that if light leaks out, it means light can leak in, and you will not be able to flower succesfully like that, so it's kind of important. Aquarium filter foam comes in handy for this as well, but the angle design is better air flow.

Thanks for the input guys.

Just a quick update here, I've upgraded the poor photoshoop to real CD drive parts.

Hope you guys approve of the stealthiness. :D

PS: i'm not worried about the stealth of my box cuz parents dgaf.

Also one more important note:
do i really need to remove my cd driver housing?? I was going to house my sockets in it.

Ive never built a pc styled growing machine, but if I was to, I would certainly not leave the cd drive rack..

But if you've got plans for it..

It seems like its going to be hard to drill out, but more importantly, i thought i can use the rack to house the bulb sockets.
