1000w Multi Bucket RDWC

Greetings brothers and sisters. Iam a new experienced grower kinda crazy:crazy: Iam running a multi Buckets system that I have designed and put together. Here are is a pic of some pre-construction I had going on.

And after it was done! Thank Jah it was a tough battle with the drywall.

So we are running one strain to start off with and that is Querkle(Purple Erkle x Space Queen) and great strain that we picked up from Oaksterdam University. It was like a mad house we had to show up at like 6am and wait in line we were only 7th in line and by the time we were up there was a small variety of clones to purchase. Iam happy with what we got but I was really hoping to get some other hot strains. Oh well. I have a horrible camera phone that takes the worst quality of pics as you can see. I will get a new one in a couple of weeks and share some pics of the inside here soon. Stay warm out there.

I will be updating some photos hopefully with a temp web cam very low quality but good for now plants just went in 3 days ago roots are forming and are looking healthy. I am using CNS17 for my nutrients right now, but I don't like them at all cause it produces these nasty salt boogers sitting at the bottom of each bucket uhh. So I am gonna switch it up to something more earthy and not so much chemical. There are so many brands out there it is insane mad competition crazy. Well I will post those pics tonight and talk to you guys again soon.

Day 4 Vegging

Alright the lights are on and I got some crazy webcam photos. I apologize for the quality it probably will hurt your eyes to even look at the pics sorry.

First is the res chillin outside the room with an inline 1/2 hose and valve going into the controller bucket which is shown on the second photo. Also on the second photo is a pic of a white bucket that is what I call the recirc bucket and a small 40gal/hr $6.00 pump.

Here is a pic of the ladies just getting started looking good and so are the roots on these ladies shown in the next pic.

Having some problems with the recirculation rate. My plan is too put the controller 4inch off the ground and the planter buckets 2 inch, leaving the last white recirc bucket on the ground so there is a bit more gravity to push the water through more quickly. Again sorry for poor quality photos soon my friends.

Right now I am not cause we were waiting on some funds to come through. But temps don't go above 79 degrees when lights are on. I think that the winter is the cause of this. Still want to put in a 6" can fan to move air through the room and cool the light.

So I was using CNS17 Nut line by Botanicare and I do not like it. It left way to much nasty chemical salt build up. I have now switch to Organic Pro Grow by Botanicare and having way better results as far as crap in the system. The plants overall look way more healthy aswell. I like the soluble organic nutes way better. I will also be adding liquid karma to the mix next week on Wed or so. Everything is growing.

agreed, 6" fan will be good when ya need it..
but if ya dont have a fan yet look at a 8 inch..then go with 8" xxl hood :eggnog:

Nice looking setup. And your plants look great.
I have one suggestion though. From the picture of you holding a net pot I can see that you didn't fill it to the top with hydroton and light can penetrate into the bucket which can cause you multiple issues down Better to have a 1/4" to 3/8" hold drilled in the bucket lid to allow for some ventilation of air.
As for nutrients, I think that you will find that pretty much all hydro nutrients are going to leave some ammount of nutrient salt buildup. It is just part of doing hydro and is easily controlled by occasionally filling your entire system to the tops of the buckets and then draining. I would do that twice every 2-3 weeks in my DWC setups and still do it with my Ebb&Gro system.

Happy Growing.

Looks like a nice roomy setup Ganj, how many girls do you have in there?

I've never been to Oaksterdam but that's crazy the clones went so fast, I would have thought 7th place in line for anything would get you pretty much the pick of the litter haha. I'm sure the Querkle is gonna be bomb regardless

This room is 7.5x7.5x7.5 and there are 12 ladies. Hopefully I can get a better camera here soon to show you guys. It would help since this is my first run with DWC. Thanks guys for getting on here and giving me advice. We are setting up a second room already built, it is gonna be Organic Soil 12 plants under 1000w hps. I will make a new thread for that grow here soon. Thanks again all!

Mist is right u dont want algae.

Yea that wouldn't be very fun would it. I checked this out and it seems that no light is reaching the roots. I am only using 3" pots so there isn't much space for light to get in anyway. Thanks for the advice though. Here is some low quality photos I took today we will see if we can see the difference in growth they are looking healthy though. Again sorry for the photo quality.

looks good take pics when lights go right off and the photos will be better, my camera sucks at taking bright pics also.

Alright those whom are still reading this thread, I have one issue with the one of my plants. It has dark spots on leaves. Here are a few low quality pics of course. Please give me feed back.

What is crazy is that the system is connected in a circuit and the plant with the dark marks on it is in the middle of the system and none of the other plants are showing these marks. All the plants get exactly the same thing cause they are connects to one another.

Day 19 Veg

Day 19 Veg

Hey brothers and sisters got some crappy photo updates.

Experiencing some crazy leaf curl thing with a few of the plants. You will see it on the left side of the pic.
Picture71.jpg

Also the roots have a dark stained color on them where they are resting the nute solution, Iam using Pure Blend Pro and Liquid Karma at the moment along with some Earthworm Casting Tea w/ Mollasses.
Picture76.jpg

Otherwise things are going great, temps are descent low 70s and Humidity is at a steady %40. There is amazing growth everyday. Querkle has super fat stocks and dense close together nodes with huge fat leaves, super Indica. I plan on putting a screen over the ladies in a few days and training them under it for another week and then switchin it over to 12/12 and continuing to train for 3 or 4 days then letting the colas come up. That is something of how it should go. But I expect it to be more of a challenge then that. I up for a good challenge. Here are a couple of the whole garden enjoy. Again sorry for the bad quality pics:noway:.

Well first off you are probably overdosing your plants by using both the Liquid Karma AND Earthworm castings. The staining of the roots is nothing more than the nutriets color being absorbed.
I ran organics in DWC years ago and found it to be more trouble than it was worth. If you stick to just the pure blend pro with the liquid karma and other botanicare additives you should do fine. Adding the earthworm casting tea and molasses is only going to lead to problems since the purity of those teas is questionable at best and although they work fine in soil, they can and usually will turn a DWC system into a petrie dish of pathogens.

I would flush and clean your entire system and go back with fresh PBP nutrients if I were you.
