Hello All, hope T-day was good for every one.....
AB, hang onto that Floyd and any that might be on the "Tower" label. Does it have the weight and feel of those old LPs? Any inserts or Posters??? I haven't watched any values since bailing out years ago after Zappa died. Then a year or 2 later hit "Ye ole local used music store" and picked up some promo cds real cheap guessing Zappa value must have went down real quick and hard. Wonder what my Yardbirds LP is worth???

Blimey, USB turntable, I needed a good laugh, then I got serious. Its an idea IMO. Or if some one could build an interface. There are some possibilities there to me. Then I googled a few things, this may have been done. Plus w/some adapters I guess you could always input to your "sound card". Still checkin' out Cardiacs, many thanx. Helps get me outta "Power Trio" mode.

Hard Rain, quite a list IMO. Ya got me on Nick Cave and Radio Birdman. Live at Leeds, Pete at his best perhaps. Made in Japan, quite the classic too. Stooges, surprised they haven't popped up more. Its just me but I like my "Mac" with peter Greene and a good dose of blues. Now I got that bass line running thru my head. Radio burnout for me & rumors....."Oh Well".....hehehe (wish I could type)

S4L, ya got me on all of em, the average year being 1997, I ran some other #s too. Its all good but I'm guessing your not 40+, LOL. 19 posts between this one and "Yesterday". 16 posts on 12-23-07. lets see 30 days/month, 23 months hmmm,yadayada,hmmm......9 post a day since 12-23-07. Certainly scouring the forums aren't we. Its all good and to each their own.

Lemme swim in your in ocean baby
Lemme stroke in your sea
Lemme swim in your ocean honey
See how good it can be.......Cactus

I'm nearly 60 & the idea was that my selection was
so bad that you'd rather swim away from the island.

alice in chains-dirt
bad brains-any old album'll do
suicidal tendencies-how will i laugh tommorrow
primus-sailing the seas of cheese
black sabbath- paranoid
thats my 10

Its all good, I do have a tendency to be stuck in the late 60s when things seemed to be a bit more free thinking and flowing. Also stuck on early LPs when a group is new and hungry. Before commercial success and the trappings there of kick in. Just not a fan of "over produced" music either. (That eliminated 95% of country music in the last 40 years) As rock let me down I wandered into acoustic guitar stuff, Blues, Bluegrass, and some jazz. It took Zappa (notably "Waka/Jawaka) to get me to appreciate a good horn section in music too. Plus I like albums where you have to listen to the whole thing to "get it". Apologies to the group if I came off like a music snob, a burnt out music snob at that. Hi Ho.........

Black Sabbaths first 4 would be in that 10 ... I'd leave Court of the Crimson King in there. Add Pauls Boutique ... Umma Gumma ... Mack Daddy ... Overnite Sensation and Apostrophe

Paul's Boutique is a great album, but for me, Hello Nasty is the definitive B/Boys album.

Zappa - so much to choose from but Ship arriving Too Late To Save a Drowning Witch....maybe..or Joe's Garage....or one of the You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore...or..or...lol

Did radio kill the Rock 'n Roll??? I've been in my car 3 times, I've heard "Money" 3 times and "Free Bird" twice. And my wife wonders why sometimes I listen to talk radio. Wonder no more babe, thank goodness there is a decent jazz station nearby, and sometimes I can pick it up. I remain convinced that "Classic Rock Radio" only needs 4 cds. 1 each for the greatest hits of the 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's. Who needs DJs??? Slip those 4 in the player and hit random. Kill Ugly Radio......

Lets see:
Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush-Live
Rush-2112
Robin Trower-Bridge of Sighs
Roy Buchanon-Greatest Hits
Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon
Beatles-Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
Johnny Cash
and these:

Roy and Frank in the same list, wow. May your guitar strings never break or rust. Just was listening to Strange Universe when my own kid said "Bit loud isn't it?" Kids, go figure, wonder where he got that line from. Saw the tour right after the live LP came out. Amazing show and LP, shoulda been a 2 record set. Even my hardcore Hendrix and Johnny Winter friends agreed that with that show Frank & MR owned Johnny B Good. Luckily I saw Roy just 2 or 3 month before he died, some 20+ years ago. There has since been a live LP "Live In Japan" released thats a killer to. Roy B. the greatest guitarist you've never heard of. (Per NPR I think it was)

Never could figure out that show, Sammy Hagar opened, Frank 2nd and Nazareth headlined. Their singer had a broken leg at the time. Wrong order. After Mahogany Rush a friend and I stepped outside waiting on the others. I saw what I wanted to see and no way anyone was gonna top that. Did I mention I'm not a Nazareth fan???

I saw Frank around '78/'79. Angel opened up, followed by Mothers Finest, then Humble Pie, then FRANK!!! Dude was just awesome. He opened up at the Cap Centre with a guitar solo under a strobe light and after smoking Columbian all night we were blown away.
