nice OREGON ! which grow tent is that?

Thanks Amstel,
It is just a cheapo tent I got from HTG supply, they are not very light proof so I had to do quite a bit of work to it ie duct tape over all of the seams and a cover over the front during the dark period. It might be worth the extra expense to go for the top quality tents but I am a cheapo lol.

i would say that is overkill. if the cab is 2ft deep then get a 250 ansd light a 2x2.5 area or get two and light 5 foot of it. by the time you can afford to get a third you will light your whole cab just right as you will get a bit of overlap between them.

my cab is 2 deep by 2.25 wide and i get great yields (well over half a pound) and great buds with a 250 (no cooltube)
scrog is perfect for a 250

Cool it properly with a 6'' vortex and it shouldn't be a problem. You can get that pound off a 600 in a 2x3 but not with scrog. Do 24 6'' pots in a sog with 2 week veg if you want a pound. I run 3 600's and have done plenty of scrogs and sogs...SOGS outyield the scrog every time and in much less time trust me. 24 clones at 20g per...I'm tellin ya. :2cents:

thought as much - no takers there then LMAO!!
the rest of you giving sensible advise RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!
Scroger250-we have hit 1.6g a watt using 250 and 400's using SCROG just for the record, but yeah if you can afford to pack a sog in there do it for time sake!!
Peace-........Scroger!!

Some people are too quick to rubbish peoples ideas! But listen to Verdant Green cos he really does know what he's on about to be fair:2cents:

I personally run my 600's over a 3x4 to 4x4 per light with 12 to 16 3 gallon pots in a sog. Most people would do a 3x3 for a 600 but I have an easier time pulling over a bow per 600 by expanding the footprint. The only downside is that you need to rotate plants.
I only do this now because I need to maximize yield from 1800w. I will be doing 1k per 4x4 in my next location to keep the numbers reasonable while increasing yield.

100w per sq ft will usually be a waste of light, but I have done it with a 400w over a 1.5x3 and my buds looked as fat as 600w buds from two cheese clones in 5 gallon pots lst'ed. Optimal range is 50-70 watts per sq ft in my opinion.

A 400w would certainly be more efficient @ 50w per sq ft but you WILL get more yield with a 600 from the given space. :2cents:

Go for it, I plan to do the same thing setting up for a friend in the near future. You have much more airspace even with the limited floor coverage so I think you'll be able to manage the temps far easier than someone lighting the same floor space in a small cabinet.

Air cooled hood for sure and lots of ventilation. Proper environment is just as important. If your hood will allow you to run with the sides of the bulb facing the 3' length of your closet it will improve the light coverage in your rectangular space.

LOL......................I've got a 1k over a 3' x 3' and temps are staying at 75 degrees!!! Best weed is grown at the equator and that's where the sunlight is strongest!!! IMO run as much light as you can afford!!!

Edit: I do have a Yield Master 6" a/c hood though.....................makes a world of difference. I can put my hand on the glass of the hood no problemo!!!

Same here. 1000watt metal halide in a 2x4 space. Buds plenty big, and about 8 oz worth of colas every few months.

I'm lucky I have a half-bathroom I use, it naturally stays cool temps are not really a problem. Good luck to you dude time to start planning. Shoot for 35-50 watts per sq ft. you could split the closet and your flower period. 400W on one side for finishing flower, some fluoro tubes on the other for beginning flower. Nice maximization of space/yield, harvest every month :)

Also work in a lightproof drying area underneath the fluoro spot, that way all you need is one scrubber. Veg you can do in another closet or build a veg rubbertub :).

Good luck! TELL NO ONE

Hmmm are you sure everything is OK? in a 2.5x3 space with a 250W I got 11oz my frist grow.. I think you can yield way more with that extra space/light.

I just did the math that is only .23 gpw man.. you could be doing waaaay better.

he did say 8oz per cola.....and your saying you hit 1.25 with your 250? at 7.5sqft 250 watts=33wpsf?

I just keep the main buds. The rest is about equal weight and gets turned into bubble hash. I'd like to have another foot of width on the 2' side, but what can you do. I'm just glad for the endless supply of good weed. BUT, back to the original question, IMO 600 watts will do just fine in that space. 600 watts HPS is pretty close to a (almost) 1 year old 1000 watt MH anyway. Maybe brighter :) MH loses peak brightness rather quickly in its life span.

Hmm he says 8 oz worth of colas, not 8 oz per. 8 oz per cola would be awesome I'd like to see a pic of that if that's what he meant. edit: ah okay

Yes. 1.25 gpw @ 33 watts/sqft coverage. LST'd Kali Mist (horizontal light exposure to long spiraling colas), soil w/perlite, long veg time, Medina hasta gro 6-12-6 w/humic acid, Superthrive, kelp extract (cytokinins), and blackstrap molasses.

I had more sublime sativa than I knew what to do with.

I was going around the city I lived in giving phat J's to homeless people, dudes working the take out window, etc. Drunk with power lol.
