Here is my info from the form filled out. To give a little background this has been happening for about 2 weeks now but the plants have still been growing and seemingly to look healthy apart from this abnormality on say 70% of the plants about are experiencing this. I didn't think it was a big deal at first and I thought it would grow out of it but now it's kind of freakin me out because it hasn't gone away:

I hope you can help me. here's my form filled out and pics below:

What STRAIN are you growing? Purple Kush
What was the establishing technique? (Were the seed or clone?) Clone
What is the age of your plants? Day 25 from when I received the partially rooted clone in the jiffy pellet
What PHASE are the plants in? (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? Flower beginning of 2nd week
What Technique are you using? DWC with a Top feed system top fed for 5 mins, twice per day
What substrate/medium are you using?(Hydroton, RockWool etc.) jiffy pellet screwed into a 3 inch RW cube
What is the Nutrient temperature? 19*C-21*C or 66*F-70*F
What Nutrient's are you using? Advanced Nutrients:
(3 cabinets with each having a separate 9 gallon / 34 liter reservoirs total) with:

 • Connoisseur part a 45mL
 • Connoisseur part b 45 mL
 • Humic acid 36mL
 • Fulvic acid 36mL
 • Carboload liquid 36mL
 • Sensizym 180 mL
 • Piranha powder 11 grams (inserted into a women‘s nylon stocking as a sort of tea bag to help reduce sludge build up)
 • Voodoo juice 108 mL

What is the TDS/EC/PPM you are using? Coming in at 1080ppm right now
What is the pH of the "Tank"? Keeping 5.5-6.0ph sometimes its slipped up to 6.6ph for brief periods
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equiptment? Yes I calibrated my Hanna combo meter not to long ago
When was your last watering? Refilled the rez a cpl days ago but it top feeds every day twice for 5 mins each time and most of the plants roots are now hanging down into the oxygenated rez
When was your last feeding change? (ie. grow-bloom-micro-additional) a cpl days ago
What size bulb are you using? Each cab has 2 400W HPS
What is the distance to the canopy? Approx 2 ft
What is your RH Factor? 25-55%RH
What is the canopy temperature? 18-29*C or 65-85*F swings
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include flucutaion range) Day 29*C or 85*F and Night 18*C/65*F
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) very good wentilation
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? One intake blows down the aisle between them but there are 18 sites
Is your water HARD or SOFT? Soft I think. City says 0.3 grains per gallon
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned off of or pinched? I pruned off the dead leaves after they looked 50% dead / sap sucked from the mites. Also, pruned off ones that were fading to yellow and looked dead.
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so, What and When? Scott’s Ecosense and Dutch Master’s Penetrator mixed together 5 days ago and then Einstein Oil (cold pressed Neem oil) and Penetrator mixed together yesterday
Are plant's infected with pest's? Slight Mite problem from the cloner. Initially when I received the clones I dipped them all in a hyox/iso solution and thought this would have killed them all when I received the clones but they started popping up again so I started using the above spray program to help deal with them.

It's hard to tell in the pics but on some plants the smaller leaves close tot eh stem are kind of shrivelling towards the stem andkin dof hugging it and twisting weird ways a bit.

:thanks: in advance if you can help....

I'm on my first grow, and no expert by any means (my sick plants coming here soon). I'm just wondering if you considered that using DM Penetrator with an insecticide may be forcing the plant to absorb it? I know Floramite is designed to be taken up by the plant and kills any mite that bites it - but most seem designed to stay on the surface, so maybe a bit of soap or Coco-wet as a surfactant instead?

Hi Badger, you're right, form what i read, using the Ecosense and Pen may be forcing the plant to absorb it so that in effect it becomes systemic so that if those sap sucker start eating again they will die!!

The plants were showing signs of this curling / shrivelling before the spray applications so I don't think the spray is the culprit here.

Does anyone know why they may be shrivelling around the stems and curling in the leaves?

Are those pictures sufficient along with the form i filled out to diagnose? If any additional questions / answers are needed pls let me know...

:eggnog:

yeah kushes tend to be picky eaters, I would spray the leaves a couple times with plain PH'ed RO water if you can, and flush the medium with a gallon of the same thing. Dump your tanks and leave out all the additives except the main nutes, see how the new growth on top looks in a couple days. I would drop the overall concentration down to about 800 ppm.

BTW< it was probably one of the acids causing the curling, probably the fulvic if I had to guess. ;)

Thanks Lm! Wish i could give u more rep but it wont let me for now... I have to spread a little more around first apparently...

It does kind of look like an acid deformity tho doesn't it? Almost like someone just poured out some acid right on the leaf or something... I had no idea shit was that potent...

At least all the new growth is already looking pretty good from what I can tell (pics below)

Time to drop the concentration and spray em down I guess... what ph should I use for the water foliar spray? 5.6?

Yeah I usually do foliar sprays around 6.0, mildly acidic. Yep the fulvic and humic acids alike are very potent, when I do foliar with them it's a drop or two per gallon, more than that and shit goes sideways.

Ok cool, would you recommend cutting those burnt leaves off even if they're still green? Or just let it work itself out?

If you spray them a few times they might be ok, if not better in a week I'd cut em off as they have probably stored up some bad stuff.

Ok cool! Thanks! So, I know I should spray after lights out or a cpl hours before lights on but how often would you recommend I spray these leaves over the course of this week to see if they get better? Daily? 2-3 times? Does it really matter? Am I asking too many questions? lol

I have seen leaves twist (like spiral) and curl due to improper lighting as well as a nute problem. I mean light getting in during the dark time that is.

I thought when people said it needs to be DARK they mean kinda dark, not 100% dark. Lesson learned for me.

Yeah the whole 'dark' thing is one of the toughest for me, seems that pesky light sneaks in no matter what. Why doesn't moonlight and streetlights fuck up teh outside grows?
