Alaskan Ice, 2 weeks flowering, and losing fan leaves

Can I really be losing fan leaves already? It seems that this is way too soon. The leaves are at the bottom and middle, and mostly they're the older ones. Does anyone have any ideas?

Yes man very big, about 28" tall& about 20" wide, is that big? I think so. I'm feeding them fnb+floralicious plus+Koolbloom, and r/o water. I'm using hempy buckets, if I didn't say that already. The strength of solution I very strong, but gets alot of water the next day or two it seems to love it, except for the leaves that are dying. Btw, they look like yellowing/brownish color, with light to dark brown spots on the middle finger at the edge first then spreads to other fingers, and ip about 1/4 the way up the leave before it dies.

It could be normal as long as the plant doesn't look like it is deteriorating rapidly. It could also be that the plant didn't get enough N at the beginning of flower. The other thing it could be is that the high EC (too many nutes) is causing lockout.

No knock on the OP. I hope he has a great grow with a wonderful harvest.

But, that said, I am never, EVER , going to grow this damn strain. The sheer number of "holy crap" problem reports and "HELP!!" posts for this strain seems to top any other.

No strain is worth this hassle; not when there are hundreds of others that are more co-operative.

I concur. There are some crazy Phenoms in this cross. I've seen one good grow with these, but mine and many others sucked.

Are we still talking about my Alaskan Ice? So far it looks and smells great, it also has very many budsites. I'm sure that this is a great one I got here, I hope she doesn't prove me wrong at the end.

Yup. Still talking about Alaskan Ice. I hope it works out well for you and you have a great harvest.

Like I said though, the number of complaints about difficulties growing this strain are very, very high.

In defense of ai, I have to say that only problem I've had, is that the leaves are discoloring a lil early. This plant is a great one, it showed sex at 9 days, had preflowers at 14 days. So with this output, I would expect to see fruit Ina about 10 more days. I don't see the issue with Alaskan ice, it's been great to me so far. Well I did goto ams, neth to get them though, maybe that's the difference. I don't know why so many people are having issues with this one, also it looks like it's gonna give a great harvest. Sorry about everyones luck with this beautiful plant "Alaskan Ice".

I'm looking in your gallery and seeing a lot of CFL's. What's the light like in your grow? Lower leaves may die if there isn't enough light - especially with bigger plants. They'll shed their lower canopy if they aren't doing their job.

i too am running the alaskan at the moment and have had the same issues with the leaves. spotted and brown then dying. appeared to be PH fluctuations to me. once i got the PH stable it seemed to have stopped. what is the PH of the water going in and what is the PH of the run off? i think this is where you need to start.

Yea the lights in my albums are cfls, but I'm now using a 400w cmh. I need to post new pix of current grow. The thing is that they aren't losing too many leaves at all, like maybe 10 total. I agree it was a ph issue, only a lil off, but still enough. Soon I'll get pix up

I popped two of them earlier this year - both were very easy to grow (I'm an extrem novice) and both produce some of the best smoke I've had - but they were as different as night and day. I can't find a pic of the normal one but this one shot up thes two foot long (maybe 3 - the plant was four feet from the dirt) wispy flowers - I had to tie giant ac zip ties around them to keep em from covering other plants. Almost trashed it but it is the best smoke ever and trimming - I just put on gloves, pinched down and ran my fingers up the branches!
