Reflector Type & Size / 3x3 Table & 4x4 Table

Over the 3x3 table I have a medium adjust a wing with a 1k hps
Over the 4x4 table I have a large adjust a wing with 2 600w hps

Should I replace the current reflectors for square vented reflectors? Run a 1k hps over the 4x4? I ask this because the tables are square, and I was wondering if the square reflectors would offer me any advantage over the reflectors I use know.

Should I continue to use the adjust a wing reflectors?

MMJ,
Well, replacing the reflectors would be hard to do without also modifying your lighting selections.

This is what I'd consider doing. Square reflector with 600w on the 3x3 and the 1000w in square reflector over the 4x4.

That would provide you with plenty of light and a spare 600. In my opinion...lighting of over 100watts/SF is not necessary and potentially problematic. Light bleaching and overheating.

What do you think about this set up? Hydrofarm radiant 8" with a 1k hps over the 3x3 table? Sunlight Supply blockbuster 8" with a 1k hps over the 4x4 table?

I rather have a 1k over the 3x3 table because sometimes I flower 12 plants in each table and sometimes I flower 24 plants in each table so the extra bit of light on the 1k helps in flower.

MMJ,
I'm afraid that I'm not the best person to ask. I haven't used a wide variety of reflectors. I currently use the Sun System AgroTech on two of my lights. It's about 2' square and would serve...

But the ones you referenced look excellent. You are planning on using vents/hoses to air cool them? Otherwise, I'd say just use the batwing reflectors you already have.

I'd suggest a 600 for the 3X3 and the 1000 for the larger, if you use a 1kw on a 3X3 you get 111 watts per square foot, waay overkill IMHO.

Batwing reflectors didn't fare very well in Pico's Reflector thread, I would discontinue using them if you can afford better. If it makes you feel any better, my hoods didn't do to well either, lol.

I dont have to use vented reflectors, the reflector you used looks like a good reflector for flowering but "hot" unless a spreader is put under the bulb. What size area do you cover with 1 reflector? 1k hps?

MMJ,
I'm a 600 watt guy. I run three in a long thin area on a mover. So roughly 11 sf/reflector but I've used that same reflector on a 3x3 tray with good results. 600watt there too.

I took a look at the thread you mention, and acording to Picos tests the best reflector for flowering in a 3x3 is the super sun 2.

I'm going to do some homework on that super sun 2 I may get that reflector to flower in my 3x3 table.
