3x600 Lumatek V.S. 2 1000 coil Ballast Is the extra $$ Worth it??

I can run 3x 600 lumatek ballast with hydro farm xtrasun 6 reflectors or
2x 1000 coil ballast with xtrasun 6 reflectors. Is it worth it to go with the 3 digi's? Will it really save that much on power and be more efficent since there are more lights. Cost $200 more to get 3x 600 digis. Why and what would you do? Reflectors gotta be air cooled and can't run a light rail.

It might depend on the size and shape of your growroom.
If it's a rectangle the 600's might work out better.

I was planning on building out a 8x8 room. I can build it in rectangle if need. I just figured 3 lights would give better coverage than 2. What you think?

I have those reflectors, they suck. The SS2 puts out 12% more light, the Magnum XXXL puts down 16% more light. You can do much, MUCH better than the Xtrasuns.

They do, but the 1000's penetrate further, so it's kinda a toss up, IMO.
I have a mag 400 and 2 150's in a 4x4 area, and a 600 digi in another 4x4.
I see the plants under the 600 growing faster, but it's a first run so I don't know
which yeilds better yet.

A digital or analog ballast will use roughly the same amount of power, but the digis throw down 10% more light. The SunSystems II hoods are about the same price as the Xtrasuns aren't they?
