Hello again everyone. Not sure how interested everyone is that I keep updating this but... Im going to anyway. For my own sake, and for anyone else who is interested in growing lowryder. Anyway here is the update. Today was a magical day for myself. It was the day of my first proper harvest. So I'm still not seeing any amber but I got impatient and decided to take half of the sativa pheno (Ill take the rest in a few days after the lower buds get some more light). It was virtually all cloudy on the trichome front so the lack of amber, while disturbing at this point, is ok, especially for a sativa pheno. So anyway Ill post the series of pics, as the harvest went down. Each pic is further along the way in trimming. The final shot is how I've left the bud and it now hangs in the drying area. Anyway please comment on what you think. Thanks everyone.

And here it is, the final bud shot on the sativa pheno:

Nice, never saw someone make lowryder look so good....well, I saw your other thread...and these AF's never really do get amber like the rest of the bud ripens. I think outdoors, with the UV they do get amber more around the time of the bud being done.

I've grown masterlow and powerstout.

Ok I think Im going to do an update but pics will follow in a bit. Dont think anyone is too bothered about my update but who doesnt like to talk about their pot? And on some level thats what icmag is here for. To vent about things that you couldnt vent to anyone else about. So here it is.

So the sativa pheno top from above came down around 72 days. Not sure I mentioned that. And with the glory of my first harvest still fresh in my mind I proceeded to stick my mango pheno into about 40 hours of darkness since I noticed a lot of autoflower growers doing that. I know nothing is proven about this process but I wanted to try it. So then at 75 days I harvested the mango pheno. And it was glorious. At times it didnt even smell like I was dealing with pot but rather a fresh mango tree. So thats all down now.

And then today at day 76 I took down the rest of the sativa pheno. They were all hilarious small nugs that will be miniature after the drying shrinkage. But im happy all the same. Then on sunday or monday ill do wave one of the indica pheno harvest. And so concludes my update. Man Im excited!!!

Alright. im going to do another update. Seeing as people replied after the last. Ok so today I harvested half of my last plant (going to leave the bottom under that glorious 600 watt hps for a few days longer) and it mad me so so happy. im drawing to an end of my harvest now so happy times are over in one sense and begin in another. Anyway the reason im posting is I must speak about this plant. The indica pheno. I smells so damn good at least imo it does. Its got a serious backing in blueberry. Awesome. One of my buddies described it as blueberrry candy. The reason behind that is there is blueberry but there is also some artificial candy smell there as well (in a good way), kinda reminds me of fruit roll up as i said before. anyway since the final harvest is near Ill post some harvest pics real soon. Feel free to comment as always.

It's been a while since I posted up here. I debated whether I should follow up on this but early on into this post a buddy told me I need to take it all the way to the end, so that first time growers and first time lowryder 2 growers would have that much more information to access on icmag. And that makes a lot of sense to me, I wish I could have a found a bit more info on lowryder 2 when this was all going on.

So lets see whats been going on? Well everything is long down now. I never did see any amber trichs. And I waited oh so long for them, longer than I ever expected to be growing lowryder (I harvested everythign between 72-82 days from seed), but they never showed. I still havent worked out the reason behind this. Maybe its something to do with genetics. My buddy read something about too much nitrogen during flowering prevents amber trichs, or at least drastically slows the appearance of them. This could be the problem with my plants since I used flora nova the whole way through, and flora nova bloom seems to be kinda heavy on the nitrogen side at least for a bloom. Anyway I don't know enough about this subject to come to any serious conclusions but I welcome anyone else to comment on it. Please shed some light!

Ok anyway everything is finished drying now (took round about a week for each particular phase of harvesting). I basically hung up/put on a drying rack (depending on bud size) and waited til the stems snapped (equalising once or twice in a jar for a few hours each time). So now I simply have to cure. (Ill just be burping the jars 3-4 times a day for about 3-4 weeks). Anyway since everything is curing I thought I would do a final weigh. I had to know, and I'm sure first time growers/lowryder growers will be curious what a person on their first try - with limited knowledge of the subject - can produce. So the weights were as follows:

Sativa Pheno: 7.23 grams

Mango Pheno: 8.08 grams

Indica Pheno: 9.29 grams

Total: 24.6 grams

Anyway later tonight, once I'm more rested and up to the task, Ill put up so final bud shots. So the final goods. Am I happy? Yes Im pretty damn happy. See you in a bit for the final pics and thus the wrap up of my grow (guess this should have been a grow diary not in flower pics, sorry to the mods for that, feel free to move it). Peace.

Hey socbutter you are indeed correct. It can only get better from here. We shall see what I can produce next time round under the CFLs.

Ok guys so here it is. The final update as promised earlier today. Before the pics I think I will do a final wrap-up, in the interests of helping out those new to growing and growing lowryder. Oh actually right as I say that I realise that this won't be the final update. I have to still do a smoke report and may as well add that to here. But that will follow later since Ive managed to hold out thus far. I want a bit of a cure before I give it a gander.

So anyway my impressions of lowryder 2 in general. It was a lot of fun, really great first choice for me. It didn't require too much sweat and knowledge. As long as you have a bit of an idea of whats going you should be fine with this strain. It is of course always going to be a lowyielder in comparison to non auto flowerers but thats to be expected. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering growing it. Anyway not much to add really. Without further ado I will post the bud pics. Sorry about the poor quality. I am definitely no photographer.

Oh and just while I remember I never took a shot of everythign all together. My lack of photography skills would make it impossible. So yeah its just each individual plant that you see pictures of. Anyway hope you enjoy, feel free to comment as always and as I said before Ill follow up with a final smoke report when the time is right.

sweet first grow and some nice buds to smoke :)
i want to add that you might use larger containers next time, 2L is a bit small imho .. also why did you use a 600w hps for flower ? for 3 plants a smaller one would be enough and saves you some money
