Here's the photos. Still some nanners on this one, she flowered for ~3 weeks before I fixed the light leaks so I'm not shocked. She deserves large photos, so here they are:

JH, your boy has one hell of a date... hope he's up to the task. He stinks somethin' fierce, as does his sister (who was flipped tonight.)

Hey STrainbrain you got me all interested in grapeskunk..I love grapey weed. When did she finnish outdoor? how was the mold resistance? Also how did the smoke turn out? I imagine the yield is decent with the skunk in there. Hope you dont mind I pick your brain on the strain hehe later.

Im pumped that your growing the grapefruit jam strain... even more pumped that it seems impressive enough for your first breeding project... The mikado pheno used in this version is the most head rocking narcotic plant i have ever come across... I hope she imparts some of that potency in the cross.

I am growing something very simmilar to grapefruit jam... its called white panda.... its a different pheno of mikado crossed with the same blueberry jam male. The white panda is getting flipped tommorrow, should be fun to see how it all turns out. Later Bro.

Core - it's been a tradeoff between light leak and extreme heat stress if I'm not present at lights-on. I figure a few nanners (and ... well, like one seed per 5 plants) beats a tent full of dead chicks. I can minimize, though, and it helps. I've gone the GSK with only 1 male flower once before... but not in the tent.

- the Grape Skunk seemed to finish around the last week of September to the first week of October @ ~39N. These were both cuts I gave out and while I sampled the final product of both I wasn't privy to the grows at all. I know one was grown like a SOG clone and planted in late July, whereas the other was vegged over winter and grown as a huge bush.

I can't really speak specifically to its mold resistance or other outdoor factors, except that neither grower had any complaints and both samples were very good. (One of the growers asked me for as many more cuts as I had to give... and the other didn't only because he already has them. :smoke:)

The yield is pretty good, it's really an all-round winner. (Except for the sensitivity thing... it's so relieving to know it's stable outdoors, though.)

thundurkel - thanks bro, i'm lurking your threads too. your shit's looking nailed down this round!

Ok, here's a little update. Retardo, the Tsi Fly girls are starting to come of age. There's frost on #3 and #4 is only 4 days behind. #3, then #4 + a closeup.

And here's some of the Mirre 1 - which came down this morning @ 80 days. There is some amber, finally, but only a few. I really need the space, though, so 0/95/5 will have to do.

I'm pumped too! This male, holy crap. So I always trim off the first two side-branches from the first-true-leaves node. Last night I took off this male's 'bottom two' - wow, that sounds sinister - and the smell... oh god, the smell. It's more berry-candy than the Grape Skunk (which is mostly spicy-astringent @ the stem) but just as funky and ... maybe even stronger. It's an incredible smell, unmistakably dank but pretty uniquely so to my nose. I just hope their genes combine well. 2 + 2 isn't always 4....

80 days later, I'm finally done with the opening round of Mirre. #2 came down today, and as she was 2 days behind #1 they're same-day cuts for testing purposes. As you can see, this one contracted a wicked case of sideways in her last 48 hours. There seem to be a few straggling clear heads on her, but there's also a dusting of amber and 5/90/5 suits me just fine. Space was needed. I couldn't slide that cola through a wide-mouth Mason jar after I cut it - it's ~85mm in diameter? Under a 250, I'm calling that epic. I believe this one is my keeper... but I'll smoke before I call it.

As for #3 and #4, after just a week in the jar it's readily apparent which one is the keeper. (It was readily apparent well before they were cut, actually.)

#3 lost most of that nice grape odor by the end of life, and it's pretty obvious there's not going to be any magic in the jar. It's ended up with low-odor, earthy-smelling, sleepy, narcotic resin on a low-yielding and stretchy plant. Fine smoke in and of itself; I actually used it to help get to sleep last night... but no. If I want indica resin, I'll get it on an actual indica plant with 4x the yield and 3/4 the flowering time. This pheno also made 1 (and only 1) male flower very early on. It's not much - especially in my tent - but #4 didn't make any at all.

#4 got the stinky (crazy stinky) and to my nose very Jack Herer resin... spicy, slightly-hazy and sour and very, very good. It yielded marginally (1.5g) more than #3 and the stone, even with the green not quite cured out, is amazing. Very heady, soaring high with a warm, fuzzy body component which again reminds me of what's been grown/sold locally as 'Jack Herer' for @ 10 years. This one also rooted/revegged more quickly and has grown more vigorously in veg than #3. It yielded more and better normal-leafed cuts much earlier. Stem smells better, too.

#3 is already dead. R.I.P.

Thanks, AS! I'll have some BOG beans in the ground on Thursday but I don't know how much they'll appear in this thread. I'll be running them in their own spot. Stay tuned, it's gonna be a fun thread. I'll have a partner. :smoke:

You'll be happy with your Mirre, uncle, I promise. Even the 'bad' pheno out of 4 is pretty good smoke. The huge cut I harvested today smells just like #4, same sour-jack smell and the same look to the trichomes - it's one of those 'carpet of silver' looking flowers. If the cannabinoid profile is also the same, I have a real heavy-yielding JH pheno which will make me very happy. Karma does some fine work... I'll be running some of his Happy Brother BX1 in a couple of cycles just 'cause these were so solid.

Speaking of good gear, Mosca Negra's Tsi Fly (#3 specifically) is looking... well, I didn't get them watered in time to shoot photos but today is (was) day 21. She's budding up like crazy but the real kicker is that she's throwing out LOTS of trichomes on the fan leaves at this stage. I don't have anything that makes resin on its fans like this... at any stage. So that's cool. Smell is just like Retardo describes his pre-TF cut: peachy/mango/tropical punchy/skittles... ish. Pure fruit, and a little too sweet to be natural.

Gotta say, it's early and I haven't seen her competition - but she looks like a keeper already. She's moving quick too, on top of all the aesthetic considerations. And she got huge! More stretch than I was led to expect, but the nodes are still nice and tight. Her clone rooted in 8 days flat (above average in my environs) and is growing along nicely.

Update time!

Update time!

Johnnyhash, here's your Grapefruit Jam 3 days in. She's stretching quick, no lag time before setting into flower. I've cut a branch for a clone so she's backed up. Hoping for good things! :smoke:

Grape Skunk... she's so fine, so fine, so fine:

Here's a little bit of that Tsi Fly... gives you an idea of what she's doing. (I took one of the resin haze around the petiole of one of the larger fans, but it came out poorly.) :

And one of the RK, setting nice headbuds. There are 3 this size:

Damn... that sucks. Mine were bulletproof. You have any left?

I heard there were occasional twins in there, but I'm 0 for 5. Looks like you got 'em all... way to take one for the team I suppose? Sucks you had so many, and they all aborted.

Hope you get a chika or two from the survivors, at least. They really are all good. Smoked some of #3 (the throwaway) this morning and ... lunch was hard. Potency is not a question, for sure.
