Nutrient deficiency?

Hello,

I'm new to growing, and I have some mother plants I've been growing for the last few months, and I've recently noticed what might be a problem with them. The leaves aren't as flat as they used to be, and are now a "V" shape. Is this a lack of nutrients? Too much Nutrient? I've been using Ionic grow, and have used 5ML per litre as the directions state. I'm using an organic soil half/half with pearlite.

Any suggestions? Is this nothing to worry about?

Thanks!

They are sitting at around 80F when the lights are on and drop 12 degress when the lights are out. I had them under flouro lighting until recently when they went to a 600HPS They were a bit cooler under the flouro lights perhaps they haven't adjusted well.

I'll look into it. I wasnt really thinking about temp too much, thanks.

hmmm, your temps are quite goood, i was guessing temps because leaves tend to curl up like that when its too hot and they are trying to transpire.

Yea this is my first grow indoors, so I'm a bit at a loss. I've never seen this with an outdoor plant. I cant find my digital right now but I'll poke around and see if I can post some pics.

Here is a pic of the problem, my girl says it might be because of over watering. This is possible, as I think the soil I chose (embarassing) might be a bit dense even with the pearlite.

Yes overwatering..in your post you said v shape and v shape is pointing up..you had us thinking v shape and what we described was for v shaped leaves..good thing you put up a pic

I transferred 2 of my mothers to coco/pearlite. I'm hoping this mixture works better. I'm using a half strength solution of Ionic "grow"... these should be able to take a daily watering on coco no?

Thanks bengie! Do you just mix the coco with thy Hydroton or is the hydroton just at the bottom? I'd think that that provides considerably more drainage. Right now I'm going to just play it by ear, and the coco is still damp, so I'm watering in 48 hour intervals for now and misting every day. I'm really hoping this permanently corrects the "wilty leaves" that are in the pic above.

TYVM Miss Blunted. I'm still working on my grow room so my plants are kinf of a mess, the coc seems a lot more forgiving than my previous media however.

^^Never had a room, where it was completely built before the plants went in...it's just how it goes, haha. Once it's up, you always see something you want to change. The next issue we're gonna have is temperature problems when summer comes around. We had our last place perfect for any season....this house may be tricky. Idk....hopefully just need another portable ac and some ventilation moved around. :watchplant:

...damn, we're not gonna be harvesting this round until the end of January....just NOT in time for :window::xmastree:!!
