Please find below my suggestion for fixing America's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan"...
There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.
2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered * Auto Industry fixed.
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage * Housing Crisis fixed.
It can't get any easier than that.
P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes...
Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto.
P.P.S. And... make them give up their cushy Congressional health care plan and take whatever they come up with for us

hell, they spent 747 billion dollars on wall street and the banks, surely they can scrape
a fe measly 40 or 50 mil together for all us peons on main street right?

the only way to fix the economy is to stop taxing the people to death. Start taxing the imports and stop giving away free money to people who choose not to work. Everyday I'm at work, I see these freeloading people who use every "free" social service and give nothing back to society in any way. Our economy could fix itself if there was not so much spending without oversight. These things will never happen IMO because the rich just get richer and the rest of us can't get ahead legally. The only reason they want for us to be prosperous is so they can take higher taxes.

We could just sell Texas, and Alaska. Then turn Cali into 2 states and do the same Nevada. Then we dont have to change our flags.

Also start taxing churches.

now that I am no longer stoked and toked as much, I do see that the original articles
math is somewhat skewed, or screwed.
However, consider that the USA Govt has spent somewhere around 4 trillion on the
wars in Iraq and Afghan, AND spent over 1.4 trillion on bailouts and stimulus, as well as
losing track of around 13 trillion of Fed funds...then consider the expense of turning
Amerika into a surveillance and police state, add to that the cost of keeping the Iraq
gas prices at 50 cents and the 2.3 billion supplement for the Afghan re-build of their
homes, and the 1.7 billion to boost their cops pay...toss in the 1.7 trillion for health
care that we cannot afford, and the sky-high cost of cap and trad carbon ponzi schemes
then you start looking at around the 20 trillion or so dollar mark.
Even though the original article was off in the math, the idea is the right one.
Should you lower the number of retirees and give all of em a million with the same
specifications then the economy is fixed, as well as no more war, socialist govt
intrusion, or derivative ponzi cap and trade carbon schemes...and maybe, just maybe
we could all get back to being AMERICANS who give a damn about ourselves as good
people and not as the rest of the world looks at us as warmonger assholes.
