Garlic weed?

I have some bagseed that has been in flower for the past week and a half that smells a lot like garlic. It isn't all that potent, but for the past two grows (and now, this one) the smell is distinct. I am just wondering if anyone else has ever had plants that smelled like garlic?

ERick, I live in an area where hemp has had a long history and it grows fairly well in the wild. As a hint, weed is the state's number one cash crop. But, I was completely unaware of "Garlic Bud" being a variety. lol...Not to mention being completely unaware of any varieties until just a few short years ago.

Geneweaver, I have a few seeds left that is bound to have a male. I had pulled all the males from the previous grows and the during the last one I missed a female that hermied and this time around I am growing out a few of those seeds. I was using them to learn how to grow before plunking down good money to buy some killer genetics, as I had never grown anything in my life, except older.

Pangolin, that is interesting. Even though I have no real desire to breed or make any crosses, this information is a breath of fresh air. (lol...pun intended)

yeh man,,,,,garlicbud it was some of first of the A+ weed in Amsterdam,,,,old old scool weed ,,,Amsterdam early 80`s ,,,,,,,everything was sh1t till samS came to Holland,,,it was available as Garlicbud when sam was fully active, at the same time nevil brought NL onto the map,,,,im pretty sure sensiseeds made ShivaShanti with it

im new to growin,bout a year now,and now i know what kind of weed i have been growin! i thought i was krazy but after reading this im convinced! the first time i flowered these girls i couldnt believe i was smellin right. garlic! and this set of girls smell stonger than the last bunch! its kind of a sit on the couch and veg high. i dont seem to get a lot of a lot of dust on the buds at 7 weeks but their sticky as hell and smell srong of garlic! any more history to this strain?

I was a little reluctant to ask myself. lol...I figured someone would tell me I was crazy and just imagining it. But, yeah, definitely an indica/indica dominant! Most of the weed found here abouts is. Which is why I have harvested early (80-90/20-10 cloudy/amber) the previous grows. Indica's are ok and I like that "couch-lock" high on occasion. But, I reminisce too often about those Mexican Highland, Jamaican, and Columbian Gold sativa highs from my misspent youth and hope to, one day, find that holy grail where I can take a hit and halfway through...forget to finish!

in 93-94 a buddy of mine use 2 always grow outside an his shit always tasted an smelled like garlic the high was kinda mild but i it was alright tho

Exactly! As for feminized seed, they are seeds from a female that has been fertilized from a female that has hermed (as opposed to a female that has been fertilized from a male).

Yeah! The high isn't all that high [about a 5 or 6? (lol...or an 8 in the hands of someone who knows what the hell they are doing)] and it doesn't last all that long (about 2 hours?). But, they were free and if I screw up the grow, np. In the mean time, I am learning more from my mistakes than if I had started out, maxing out the plant. I'll get there, eventually!

feminized seeds are simply XX chromozone seeds...

a female is XX chromozone,,,,,,, a male is XY

IF YOU SELF A FEMALE,,,,,,ie,,,,"if you make a female express itself a s a male" .......ither by "stress" or chemical revercal [both boil down to hormone therapy],,,,,,a female will express viable polen!!!,,,,,but the polen will be XX chromozone, as is the female that produced the polen! ,,,,,,,,this makes only XX seeds,,,,,an that lads is femizing, simply put

yea man the shiva shanti #1 from sensiseeds.com is "garlic" bud crossed with northern lights# and some other afghani.

Yeah definitely sounds like sensi shiva shanti or shiva shanti 2, grew the shiva shanti 2 back in 04' and when lights went off it seriously smelt like a kebab house! Really really nice smoke very mellow and old school but quite strong and indica but not total couchlock, for some reason after smokin some i found my self really absorbed by nature when walkin around, remembeer thinkin wow look at the color of the berries on that bush like id never seen a berry before! Real stoner smoke!
