In the market for a tent. The DR80 series size is what I need, but which one to choose? GrowLab or Secret Jardin? Exactly the same price. Which one would you choose and why? Thanks

heres the deal i have 3 secret jardain darkroom 5x10's and one 10x10 i had to construct a beam to hold up the 4kws that were way to much weight for the shitty beams they give you.... then the 5x10s theres 2 diffrent models MAKE SURE YOU GET THE HEAVY DUTY ONE the first one i got was great real rugged but then i went to my local hydro store to buy the others they were really thin... i would accually go with hydrohut they just came out with that silver series and im intrested to see how they perform compared to darkroom... as far as growlab i own none and have never seen any. dont get me wrong dark room is good, i just think they could be designed to hold more weight and be more rugged thats all but you will still be happy with it no doubt.

Ok, looks like GrowLab! Now only one more question, how easy is it to cool a 400 HPS in it. Will have Filter inside, fan outside, 68 degree ambient temps in room it will be in.

Hm, I was just about settled on the Secret Jardin DR120 (actually two of them). I have read plenty of positive reviews.. Growlab doesnt really have a comparable size either, so that may be a deciding factor for me.

EDIT: I guess they do have a similar size.. the GL120.

FWIW, I asked the place that I am buying it from which one was better and they said GrowLab is better quality. Same exact price, and they carry both. No reason to lie to me. So GrowLab 80 it is for sure!!

slowandeasy I'm running a GL80 with dual spectrum for a total of 425 watts. My fan and scrubber are all located inside the tent and my ambient temps outside are about the same as yours.

Check it out

Pics didnt work! What are your temps in the tent? What kind of fan/scubber you have? Do you like the GrowLab?

slowandeasy, if you room temps are 68 and you have the air exhausting out of the tent constantly through the carbon filter and taking in cold air from the vents on the bottom your temps should be great inside. You will probably be right around 78F in a sealed room with just a 400 hps in that tent and maybe even much cooler it all depends on room size really but I do not foresee you having temp issues with that set-up. :joint:

Maybe these will work.. My temps are around 74 degrees.

So I am bout to get a GrowLab 120L 4 x 8. Plan on running two 1k watts air cooled hoods. What size fan do you guys recommend? i am an outdoor guy and kinda new to indoor. Have a few under the belt but not in a tent! Also what is the best filter in your opinions? I plan on having the electrical outside the tent for heat reasons. Are there good links for growlab grows? I will do a a search but if anybody has any good ones in mind let me know. Also I was planning on running c02 from a simple tank and timed release valve. How often should I run the c02? Can I run my exhaust while the c02 is dispensing? it seems it would just get sucked out the tent. I was thinking of trying some sort of c02 injection in the intake vent, that way the air coming in would have c02 saturation while it enters the tent. Is this making sense? Please help. Sorry bout all the ?'s Peace

I believe you need 265 cfm per 1k watts to effectively keep reflector temps under control. I'd also consider purchasing those insulating reflector blankets to further help control temps.

Also what is the best filter in your opinions? I plan on having the electrical outside the tent for heat reasons.

You'll have to determine this once you decide on which fan(s) you plan on running. Filters, primarily carbon scrubbers, usually base their peak operating performance on the max cfm air movement thru them.

Also I was planning on running c02 from a simple tank and timed release valve. How often should I run the c02?

The atmospheric content of C02 is roughly 300ppm, so you'll need to add 1200ppm to bring it up to optimum levels. I don't know the formula off-hand but I'd seriously consider purchasing a controller that monitors and controls C02 based on the exact ppm readings. I'm looking at getting the Sentinel CHHC-1.

Can I run my exhaust while the c02 is dispensing? it seems it would just get sucked out the tent. I was thinking of trying some sort of c02 injection in the intake vent, that way the air coming in would have c02 saturation while it enters the tent. Is this making sense?

If you were to run an atmo controller everything would be synchronized; ie. your cooling fan won't run while C02 injection was occurring and vice-verse. 1500ppm will easily get sucked out of your tent before the plants could utilize it (aprox. 3 hrs.), if you run the exhaust fans continuosly (IF you're pulling air in-thru-out of the tent).
No need for an intake fan, as you would have to get the cfm (by adjusting the rpm) just right so you don't end up forcing all the C02 out of the tent thus using up your bottle too quickly. Just run perforated tubing around the interior perimeter of the tent and use some small 6"-10" oscillating type fans to circulate the saturated air inside.

Got the GrowLab GL80, should be here friday. Take care.

AWESOME slowandeasy! Please post pics once you get your set-up together and running. If planned out right, you should be able to grow some nice :xmastree:'s in there.
Damn, can't believe it's almost Xmas!!

Rootz, is your hood aircooled? Mine is not, but can point a fan at the bulb. I think temps should be fine. Shall see later this week. The tent will exhaust out of the room, and will only be for flowering, so running 12 hours per day. In a basement, with ambient temps in the mid 60s Filter and light inside, fan on the outside. Cant wait!!!

Yes, my reflector is air cooled.

Also picked up a Homebox XS for propagation (hope the pic works).
