So, I'm bebopping around the house and my son's husband is using the Cajun Injector on the bird and I'm really happy. Love those cajun injected turkeys.

Then he mummified the turkey. Oh God, what is this?

He has this long run of cheese cloth and it is being wrapped around the bird until we have a mummified turkey going into the oven.

How are you cooking your turkey today?

What's your favorite method of cooking your thanksgiving bird?

Happy Thanksgiving!

One thats cooked by anyone other than myself is usually pretty darn good

MUMMIFIED!!! My mom does the cheesecloth every coupla years or so, it's a lot more effort but man, it makes that Turkey taste great. Nothing like eating 40 pounds of mummified flesh, mmmmmmmmmm.

All I know is the year the turkey literally FELL APART as we took it out of the oven - cracked in 2 and nearly disintegrated - THAT was the greatest turkey we ever cooked. :abduct::)

i posted this in the other thread but i recommend soaking the bird overnight in buttermilk and then doing what you will with it. the acid breaks down the meat and makes it juicier when cooked by any method.

...son's husband?

My youngest son is gay. They call one another "my husband". I don't have as many lesbian friends as I do gay, but I assume it to be the same with them.

What matters is that both my son and his husband are big-time gourmet cooks...
